Actually, can I make a suggestion for their departure? In a “Friends” inspired tribute, they should have George and Izzie fall down an elevator shaft just like Dr. Drake Ramoray.
i think i’m missing everything here. why do they have to leave? i haven’t watched grey’s for quite sometime now because i have been very busy.

Right marinak, it was TRs fault that Isaiah shouted racial slurs at him.
Katherine should take a look at shows past with Actresses and Actors who decide to leave because they dont like the show that made them stars.
We have the Suzanne Sommers and Farrah Fawcetts and David Curoso’s and after the movie careers didn’t work out, they were back on TV.
I don’t even watch the show and I am already sick of these two.
Seriously. Just go. More screen time for MerDer and Cristina and Owen!
They were both good characters in the beginning, but then Shonda Rhimes ruined them. Both are intensely annoying now (not the fault of the actors, though). They should leave and let Rhimes ruin a whole new crop of characters.
When I think of George leaving, I can’t help but pine for the George of the first few seasons. The George that was awkward and hilarious and was an integral part in making me love the show. The writers were misguided in their following George plots and really dropped his ball on the floor. Such a shame.
As for Katherine, I think I’m done with Izzie and I won’t care so much if she’s gone. It feels like her real-life persona has outgrown the ensemble nature of the show, and it’s time for her ball to bounce.
I love Katherine Heigl. Keep her.
I miss George already and I’ll miss Izzy when she’s gone.
I think that George should leave but not heigl she is such a great person for this show and george is such an ass that he is just to full of him self so Please katherine dont leave stay to play izzie !
Shonda Rhimes has already killed both characters with her inability to sustain the characters she creates. This is the show’s biggest failing. The Izzie character has been ground into spiritual hamburger, and George never became the potential character, in Rhimes’ writing, that he could have been. Time for the old “stick a fork in” and see what else Shonda Rhimes ruins with her flawed abilities to sustain the fictional people she creates.
I used to love this show, now it’s disappoints me greatly. That is also par for the course with ABC/Disney, ala Boston Legal, and Allie McBeal.
