I think I’m pretty much done watching any of the preliminary episodes of AI. In future seasons, I think I’m just going to tune in once they’ve narrowed it to their top 36 or 24. What’s the point, otherwise? You get invested in people like Deanna and Grandma Girl, and then have no explanation for why they’re cut, and you waste nearly 45 minutes of the episodes watching pointless drama, not singing. They spent 15 minutes delving into High School President Boy’s backstory during the audition episode, only to NOT show him singing in Hollywood Week, just getting cut; they call Deanna a brilliant, memorable singer, then give her 5 seconds on camera saying, “I guess I just wasn’t good enough,” and when the final 36 are FINALLY shown, you’re going “Who the heck ARE these people, and why haven’t I seen any of them yet?” It’s a waste of time and it’s frustrating.
Well, from what I recall, aren’t they bringing back Wildcard rounds this year? So maybe its not the complete end to Deanna and they’ll bring her back for the Wildcards.
MICHAEL DUDE, it’s way past 6 a.m. I know because I’m jamming this ew.com check in between (a) waking my kids up at 7 a.m. and (b) getting them on a school bus at 7:35 a.m. Where’s the review?????? I need your insights!
Danny & Jamar’s group NAILED it! I’m sure it helped that Danny is a music teacher. He probably arranged all the harmonies. Goooo Danny!
I don’t think someone should be eliminated JUST because they forgot the lyrics. If that’s the case then we’d have no Carrie Underwood or David Archuleta.
jennie, that’s what they call manipulation. i’d rather start watching the show at the top 36 as well, but i just can’t help myself. however, i make it a point to not invest ANY time in anyone until the top 12 are chosen, otherwise you’ll just be upset and/or angry.
Maybe they’re keeping Tatiana around so WE can end it for her
Good lord…
Yeah, like I suggested: I just want to see the raw auditions of the people who make it to the voting rounds – skip Hollywood week altogether. One good group performance doesn’t make it necessary to broadcast three episodes worth of self-absorbed delusional freaks.
Jennie, they showed the high school president singing. It wasn’t a long clip, but he wasn’t that good.
