Vivica A. Fox to host 'The Cougar' on TV Land: Oh dear...

Vivicafoxcougar_lIt’s the Week of Vivica! First came the revelation that her glamorous visage was being used to sell the Psychic Friends Network. Then today TV Land announces that Fox will be the host of its new dating series The Cougar, focusing on "an accomplished, beautiful and sexy woman" on the prowl for some man lovin’. The most hilarious part of the announcement is Vivica’s resume, which mostly consists of movies that could very well be made up. Examples: Unstable Fables and Motives 2. Did anyone see Motives 1?

Vivica, dear Vivica, I mean this with great love, but who in the hell is handling your career? Think about that for a sec and then about the fact that you’ve gone from co-starring in Independence Day and Kill Bill: Vol 1 (not to mention my personal fave, Set It Off) to replacing Dionne Warwick and hosting a dating show about a horny senior. It might be time to rethink things. You could always get your real estate license!

Who else thinks Vivica needs a career makeover? And anyone familiar with the Motives franchise and care to share with the rest of us?

Can you say “broke in LA”? Desperation is the right word. It’s expensive to live in LA and it’s expensive to keep your name out there. Isn’t Ellen Barkin producing a like-series based on her life?

Uhm, what happened to the story that was up two hours ago about your columnist Stephen Kind slamming Twilight lady? It seems to have been disappeared from the site.

Man, she had a hot movie career. What happened??

A cougar is a “senior”? What are you, 12?

I have no idea what happened to her. And who won that stylist contest show she was hosting? I really wish her the best. She wasn’t a great actress, but she was better than to have to be hosting wack reality shows. Doesn’t Tyler Perry have a movie coming out every other week? Why can’t she get in on one of those?

oh vivica. sigh. you can do SO much better. but good luck on all your endeavors, but dammit, audition for some A-list directors! network! you know people, remember? once again, sigh.

Loved her in Soul Food. I’d settle for seeing her as a sitcom mom, or even better how about a stint on Friday Night Lights, Damages, Rescue Me, or another decent cable show.

“Cougar” as a term needs to die. Fast.

I’ve been wondering what she is doing career-wise for awhile. I mean Kill Bill wasn’t that long ago and she rocked it. When I saw her on VH1 I was confused. Now on TV Land, I am just sad. Who watched anything but classic TV on TV Land, and why are they producing new shows, when they have such a great lineup of old shows?

OMFrigginG! ENOUGH with the term “cougar” already!! Let it go, people!

  • NYCGirl

    Are people still saying cougar?

  • Smart

You all need to shut up! Obviously, Vivica picked to be on this show because its going to be an AWESOME and AMAZING! Oh, so you think the show should be called “The Senior”?
    Get a life!

The host is under the opinion that only “the same 10 people” have complaints against the network’s programming.
