Octuplets: Coming to a cable channel near you?

Jonkate8_lWe’ve already met the Duggar family. We’re intimately familiar with Jon and Kate and their brood of eight. Will Nadya Suleman and her 14 kids be the next super-sized family to get a TLC Show? News reports surfaced Tuesday that 33-year-old Suleman — the now-world-famous mother of six kids who delivered eight more last month — has hired Los Angeles publicists Michael Furtney and Joann Killeen to field interview requests and book, TV, and movie offers. And apparently, there are many: Kaiser Permanente’s Bellflower Hospital, where Suleman gave birth, has intercepted hundreds of requests from as far away as New Zealand. (Though we can assume that our country’s networks put in a hasty bid, as well.)

Personally, I can’t see Suleman simply settling for the chance to sit down with Barbara Walters — not when so many jumbo families are making it big on basic cable. And God knows, Suleman could use the cash: She’s a divorced mom who lives with her mother and, in case you weren’t paying attention, now has 14 kids under the age of 7. Granted, a friend of Suleman’s told The Los Angeles Times that the mother was not seeking fame or financial benefit, just "more children to love." But love don’t pay for formula and diapers from Costco, man, so it’s safe to say that  we haven’t heard the last of this mama and her herd just yet.

What do you think? Should TLC leap at the chance to pair a show about Suleman with Jon and Kate Plus 8 (pictured)?

Oh great! What a fabulous mother and woman! Make money off your kids! I guess she could always be a welfare whore!

Am I the only one who really isn’t interested in having a TV network support a woman who thinks having 14 children by herself is a normal thing to do?
Nothing I have read about this woman makes me think she needs anything more than counseling to determine why she continues to bring mabies into this world with no partner and no means of financial support.
Of course, without TV, it’s probably only a matter of time before the children are taken away from her anyway.

Obviously, I meant babies, not mabies. Should have proofread.

Suleman should be ABC’s next “Bachelorette.” I’d watch that craptastrophe.

I do not want to see or read anything more about this person.

This would is mentally ill. The Doctor who transplanted her needs to be charged with a crime. Trust me those kids are going to have a very hard time in life because their mother was a money grabbing loser! There is no way she can give love to all her children equally. She will never be able to care for them herself. She in unemployed. She will be living off the state. She has asked for no less than 2 million for appearances. She is in it for money!

I swear, reading all the stuff about this woman makes me think she did this JUST so she could have a television show. It just goes to show that she is treating these children as bartering tools. Poor kids. Even worse that she isn’t financially able to care for them…UGH!

Is there any chance this woman isn’t collecting state aid? Poor kids. Just the umpteenth reason people should need a license to procreate. This and news that Bobby Brown has yet another baby mama.

child protective services should remove all of those children. how can a person, even with the help of her parents, who are obviously nuts too, take care of 8 babies from a nic-U? Bringing home 1 child from a NICU is difficult, let alone 8 plus the rest of the kids.
She is endangering all of those children with her mental illness. Also, she is a disgusting opportunist.

I will boycott any company that would sponsor this trash! Money talks and that would probably change the minds of any network thinking about paying anything to this woman.

She should have a show on VH-1. Her lifestyle fits their “celeb-reality.” Leave TLC as is, even though they lost major cool points giving the Duggers a tv show. The Duggars are more suited for TBN, not TLC.

Mind you I’m trying to be funny. This lady needs some actual psychologic help.

I really hope no one offers this woman a show. I am really hoping that having an enormous family/having multiple births doesn’t become a national trend. It kind of sickens me to see these shows like 17 and counting and Jon and Kate Plus Eight where these people who willing have large families recieve all these free gifts and donations just because they have so many kids. There are so many families with one, two, or three children who truely need this help, not families who turn their large families into reality shows.

This whole incident just shows how fickle/hypocritical the public and media can be. If this woman did not have any other kids besides the octuplets, everyone would be raving about the miracle (by way of fertility drugs) of giving birth to eight relatively healthy babies. Since this woman has other kids, everyone is raving how irresponsible she is (I believe it is irresponsible in both cases)

I feel for the kids because even if she does make money from T.V. to support them what kind of life is that to be on public view all the tome with no privacy. It should be against the law.
