Fair episode… I tuned out for all of last season and had no intentions of watching tonight, but I was in the right place at the right time. I found myself thinking that Peter must be a mad genius to do what he did after Clairs warning, but he is just a bozo that I really don’t care for anymore. ( Ever since he lost his Irish love he has become my least favorite character). Again, I am missing a whole season of info so I have NO idea why Nikki is Mrs. Freeze now, or why Hiro can’t do his thang…. But I wasn’t entirely lost, and I may even tune in next week, and the week after, and so on and so forth.
It’s still a ripoff of X-Men, Watchmen, 4400, Rising Stars, Lost, and a dozen other properties. And horribly BORING!
Much better. No time travel, less heroes acting out of character, and best of all no more ridiculous coincidences posing as plot movers. (Versa anyone?)
I like more this aspect of the series of “normal” people with special habilities, characters I can relate to (with a real job and everyday issues to deal with, like in the first season) instead of the time-travel, let’s-mess-the-past-and-future fling. I would like to see Sylar saving all the other characters from the goverment claws, that would be a twist to the character and would allow him to keep him satisfying his hunger. And the rest of the characters fully developed befeore they get write out (remember Micah, his cousin, that girl with the I’m-death power??? I would hate to see them gone just like Niki, Elle, the Midas guy, and a bunch more).
i tried to watch.. i really did..but i was so confused as to what i should have dismissed from previous seasons and what to keep. I understand the big story changing…but, the charcters personal history? yea, i think im definately done with this show.. sorry
Some people act like this show is some type of Tolkein anthology. It’s a t.v. show. I love it, but let’s call a spade a spade. It samples from comics and sci-fi, but the characters are good(still not as great as Lost), and that is what brings us back every week.
I’m not much of a TV watcher, I started with Heroes actually, so maybe that’s why I stick with it, I’ve only got The Office and 30 Rock, and those are it. I don’t really “get” how people can quit watching a show, both of my roommates were more into the Heroes DVDs than I was, yet they quit towards the middle of the winter season. I am a little upset with them for doing that, but I guess they’re not the only ones. I do cringe at a few of the writing choices, but I feel I have spent too much time with these characters to quit watching now.
It’s off to a good start so far…. but the same could be said for Volume 3, the supposed reboot and Volume 3 somehow out-crapped the so-so Volume 2 and took bipolar to whole new levels!
I really do like the tone of the show for this episode. It’s very…uncluttered and more character-development-friendly.
I just have a bad feeling that Ali Larter still won’t be given enough to do…
it seems like peter can only have one power at a time , otherwise it would be completely silly for him to hang on even though he could fly.
You know, this has been said before about Heroes. Chapter One of Volume Three offered a little promise after an inconsistent second season. I would wait to reserve judgment.
peter can’t fly. He can only have one power at a time!
It’s like every “chapter” tries to start over and then fails miserably. Kill of Syler. He has been doing the same thing for 3 years. boring. Let Claire go, Hayden is a nice girl, but she can’t act. Nathan is a joke along with Hiro. I want a show focused on Peter.I felt like I was watching a mutant version of 24. Ugh. I’m glad LOST is back.
I give Heroes it’s props for not following the we have to rewind and find a solution plotlines we come to expect. I find this new chapter intriguing and well thought out… thus far. The Claire overacting has been happening for a minute now. Hayden acts like the show revolves around her wig I mean acting range. Everyone else is on point. I even dug Hiro’s new hairstyle. Heroes to me is on the road to redemption one episode at a time.
I have been with Heroes from the beginning. I have experienced the anguish of watching something great get ruined by terrible writing, acting, and directing, but tonight’s episode was hands-down the best episode of Heroes ever made. The beginning of volume 3 had a lot of action, but no substance. But tonight . . . nothing felt forced. No horrible dialog. No illogical plot holes. No annoying character actions. It’s everything it was supposed to be. I know viewership has decreased, but if the show can sustain this level of quality, then it will rise to dominance again. Watching Sylar decimate that SWAT team was a thing of beauty. On a side note, I think Peter’s can only abosrb abilities thru touch now as opposed to empathy. Cool!
Oh and more thing. It’s true Peter can fly but he utilized super-strength during the plane descent because he is instinctually driven to save others. Flying away wasn’t an option.
