Jennifer Hudson 'lip syncs' the national anthem: How dare she...do what so many others have done?!

The acoustics in a stadium are VERY different from the acoustics in a ballroom, which is why Beyonce sang live while Jennifer used a backing track. If Beyonce had been singing the Anthem at the Super Bowl, she would have used a backing track. If Jennifer had been singing at the inaugural ball, she would have sung live. (Case in point: Even Yoyo Ma and his ensemble played with a backing track at the inauguration, because of the acoustics, the technical risks, and the high-stakes situation. It’s a very common practice.)
Her version ranks as one of the best. 2nd only to Whitney’s ( I don’t even like Houston but her version is the best I have ever heard). It’s standard to sing with a track. This is not news at all. Welcome back Jennifer!!!. Amazing job considering the tragedy she endured.
If you are not upset by this fraudulent representation, why wasn’t Obama’s oath of office lip synched to make that perfect too? Can’t anyone handle real life anymore, or do we still need more attorneys to make our decisions so we can’t take blame for our own mistakes?

FIRST OF ALL, BEYONCE RECORDED HER VERSION AND JENNIFER SUNG THE NATIONAL ANTHEM LIVE AT THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION AND SOUNDED THE SAME (AMAZING), IT HER VOICE AND THAT’S ALL THAT MATTER.
Whitney Houston lipped it too, and her version was available for purchase in just a few days. Cher did it. The list of people who don’t back track it at the “Bowl” is very short.

Years ago, it was revealed that all of the singers of the National Anthem are pre-recorded because of acoustics and the noise from the fans in the stadium can sometimes drown out the singer’s voices. Anyone who has seen Jennifer Hudson sing live knows she has a great voice. This is another non-issue, like the classical quartet at President Obama’s inauguration. And her bravery in appearing after the tragedy in her life was extraordinary.

Oh no no no NO. This blog (while one of my favorites) is constantly raging against the likes of one Britney Spears, for her lip syncing. Going on and on about how unprofessional it is etc etc. And now the J.Hud does it, it’s ok? I dont think so.
In my opinion, lip syncing dance songs is “acceptable” lip syncing while standing and singing a slow song? 100%, hands down, no excuses allowed terrible.
I’m guessing hudsons handlers were the same cats that handled the little chinese kid flapping her lips in the opening show of the olympics.
Im disappointed Jennifer Hudson lip sync’d. I find fault in her handlers, not the artist, allthough she did participate in the hoax. Its fraudulant, not law breaking but dupery. Im not picking on her, any artist to lip sync and pass it off as live is a fraud, when the song we hear is recorded in studio, the banner on the bottom should say “previously recorded.” Why in the world would pre-game show producer Rickey Minor give such advice? “NOT recommend any artist go live because the slightest glitch would devastate the performance. Thats what the superbowl is all about, pressure and performance on the biggest stage of all.” Rickey Minor should be discredited.
I remember reading years ago, maybe even back so far as when Whitney sang the national anthem, that they pre-record it every year so that there aren’t any stumbles, forgotten lyrics, cracked voices, etc. I don’t think it has anything to do personally with any of the artists.
The difference between JHud and the likes of Britney Spears is that everyone knows she can actually *sing*. When someone like Britney is exposed for having to *pretend to sing poorly*, it exposes the tackiness of using sexuality to sell music. Which in turn makes people angry because it exposes their own flimsy excuses for watching them perform. So if you’re going to make comparisons, please try to make intelligent ones.
If you can’t handle singing the National Anthem LIVE then don’t sing it.. I mean, come on!!!
When I was in High School, our band played in the Pre-Show of the Superbowl in Minneapolis. There were 3 High School bands together and not one of those instruments was played live. We didn’t beacause of the massive delayed echoes that happen in stadiums. If we had played live, it would have been disconcerting to both the band and the viewers. Get over this people, this is an extremely coomon practice at events like this (inauguration, hello?) If Jennifer Hudson had not lip-synched, we may have been subject to something akin to the Roseanne Barr debacle. And by the way, Britney always lip synchs, the last time I saw her sing live people still thought she was talented.
