ABC has greenlighted three more drama pilots, Variety reports. And they are:
• Limelight: Inspired by consulting producer Pharrell Williams’ experience, this show revolves around the aspiring wannabes and teachers at a New York City performing arts high school. K.J. Steinberg (Gossip Girl) will write the pilot; she’ll exec produce with McG and Leonard Goldberg (Charlie’s Angels). As the trade points out, the show could benefit from great timing — a big screen Fame is on tap for fall. Or, as I point out: It could be Mark Burnett’s show Pirate Master, tanking even though audiences were loving Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. TAG (Totally Arbitary Grade): B-
• Untitled Jerry Bruckheimer project: Not much was reported about the plot of this show, with the appropriate working title The Unknown, but it’s said to center on amateur crime fighters. I understand why ABC would want to partner with Bruckheimer, who’s produced the CBS procedural hits CSI, Cold Case, Without a Trace, and Eleventh Hour. And maybe the amateur angle is how they’ll lie to themselves and say the idea’s fresh. But it’s still sounding stale. TAG: C
• Empire State: This story is said to center on "two clashing families and a Romeo and Juliet-style love story." Talk about stale, right? However, the script is from Michael Seitzman, who wrote the Chris Klein-Leelee Sobieski teen weeper Here on Earth and adapted the Charlize Theron-starring North Country. How does that happen? I’d like to see this show, just on ABC Family. TAG: C+

Limelight: B+ I did love Fame. I think it could do well in today’s age of all kinds of music and art, dance and stuff. So I am interested to see it this is any good. We’ll see though.
• Untitled Jerry Bruckheimer project: C-
We do not need another procedual. Can’t any creativity come out of Jerry Bruckheimer. I guess not. So I am not in favor of this. But we’ll see.
Empire State: B-. Intriguing. But cast contigent for me. I have to see this Romeo and Juliet type characters and actors. But I am intrigued. Now if they cast Roswell’s Shiri Appleby who will need work when ER is done. Roswell’s Jason Behr as the characters. I am totally in, no question. But it’s cast contingent for me. But it’s interesting idea so we’ll see. We always need those kind of shows on television.
Only one that has my ears up is Limelight. I think I’m losing interest in what network television has to offer.
All I have to say is, they cancelled Pushing Daisies for this crap??
How about they shelve this dreck and bring back Eli, Daisies and Kyle XY?
I agree that these shows are lacking any luster as “new”. ABC cancelled to really good shows like Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money for this BS! ABC made a big mistake!
ABC had original scripts, in the forms of “Eli Stone” and especially with “Pushing Daisies”. Sounds like more mediocre stuff that begs the question: why get rid of “Eli” and “Daisies”? The only star-crossed lovers I want to see are Ned and Chuck!
I, for one, am really getting sick of seeing that picture.
Nice job killing good shows for that garbage, ABC
Stacey–Shiri is already tied to a new pilot.

i freaking LOVE Roswell and their characters…i want to see them do something together again. their chemistry is incredible!!!
As far as Jason Behr is concerned,I don’t think going back to T.V. would be the best thing to do right now. What Jason Behr needs to do is be seen and heard. He needs better roles so people can see how great of an actor he is. So Jason Behr if you are reading this and I know you are,BE SEEN AND HEARD MORE,MAKE SOME NOISE EAT AT THE IVY,GOTO A PARTY OR A RED CARPET.
I love it that when anyone whose anyone talks about R+J they see shiri+jason! *shakespeare eat your roswell heart out
Actually, going back to TV is a REALLY good idea, since it’s getting his horrendous actress of a wife noticed, and it did the same thing for his ex-girlfriend too(who is also a horrible actress). The better roles that he’s had are roles that people panned because they aren’t by big name producers and directors. At least if he goes back to TV, the chances of him working with one of those big name producers is pretty high. Say whatever you want about Jerry Bruckheimer, but most of his shows are VERY highly rated. He’s already been going to Red Carpets Events, the problem is that the paparazzi spend more time on his wife than they do him, which is completely ass-backwards since she can’t act and he can.
JBtheMan.. you make alot of sense. Either way Jason Behr needs to find better roles and needs to over shadow his wife. Can anyone tell me where to find the movie “Frost” (Jason Behr)
