If you happen to wander past my office at any point during the day, odds are you’ll hear Kelly Clarkson’s infectious new single, "My Life Would Suck Without You," playing. (Or "Elevator" from the new Pussycat Dolls album. Judge away, PopWatchers. I certainly would.) But Clarkson fans like me can rejoice because the former American Idol just released the new video for her hit single (which has broken records by leaping to No. 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart). Basically, a less angry "Since U Been Gone," the video has Kelly playfully arguing with a very hot fella. Who are you, sir? Maybe we should do introductions over drinks?
But there’s even more fun to come: I heard five tracks from Clarkson’s album, All I Ever Wanted, and it’s thankfully more Breakaway than My December. The second single, "I Do Not Hook Up," penned by Katy Perry, is a sassy delight and refreshingly prude with its non-promiscuous message. It just made me all the more anxious for the album’s March 10 release date.
Anyway, you can watch the 30-second teaser that aired on last night’s Idol below, and view the full video here. And then tell us what you think!

My December was brilliant. So if the new album has a more commercial sound like Breakaway, that’s a step back in my humble little opinion.
I love this song and the video is great! Can’t wait for the album!
Love the song and the video! It’s nice to see her smile and have a little fun.
I have to say, when I first heard the title of the song, I thought it was going to, well, suck. But what a great song! This is easily my fave song from Kelly, ever. And the second single was penned by Katy Perry???? Looking forward to that as well!
I’ll reserve my opinion until I hear the songs
Its OK of a song. Has to grow on you. Actually, I thought it sounded very Avril Lavigne.
She’s still kinda hot.
I haven’t been able to get the song out of my head for the last week. I can’t wait for her new album.
I also really liked My December a lot; it just wasn’t as pop. I don’t view this as a step back. She’s putting out more well crafted music.
Love the new song. I thought My December was brilliant too, but I think she needs to do something commercial every now and again. My December proved she was an artist also, not just a singer. She earned credibility from that. But I’ll be getting the new album the minute it comes out. Kelly is an amazing talent. Good luck Kelly.
Mr. Stack,
I believe the guy in question was just in that movie, “Prayers for Bobby,” where he played Bobby’s boyfriend. May your mystery be solved!
I just wanna know when grrl’s going on tour!!::::omaha, kelly….omaha.::::
WooHoo! I love it! The song, the video…awesome. Looking forward to the album. March 10 seems so far away.
Great point, Brad! I think I would be satisfied if every other Kelly album was commercial followed by a more artistic release… like a lot of respectable actors do with their movie choices.
I watched the whole video and I LOVE it! It’s playful, cute and funny. I’m SO glad she’s back! It’s been a long year with out her. without a doubt 2009 is going to be awesome if she’s in it!!! I can’t wait until March 10th!
Glad she is back, and breaking records. She a great role model for young women, and she is very talentd
