Rumors of a third Tomb Raider installment have circulated lately, and today THR.com reports that producer Dan Lin and Warner Bros. are indeed in early development on yet another easy-money project propelled by the centrifugal force of Lara Croft’s boobs. Reports suggest that Angelina Jolie, who played Croft in Tomb Raider and Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, will not star in the reboot — and despite some significant buzz, Jolie Junior, a.k.a. Megan Fox, is "not involved in the movie at all" according to her reps. So who should be Lara? The obvious answer is no one, as in "No one cares anymore about Lara Croft." But this movie’s getting made, no matter how many other worthy videogames or comic books deserve a first-time adaptation instead. So I’ll suggest Doomsday star and real British person Rhona Mitra, who toiled as the franchise’s live-action Lara Croft for public appearances from 1997-8. Then again, if I’m basing my vote purely on the image to your left, they pretty much have to cast Michelle Rodriguez, because doesn’t she always look exactly like that, except a little more pissed off? My mental image of Michelle at this point is basically this. Or this. Or (ha) this!
What about you — who would you want to see as the new Lara? And could she maybe unearth an original movie idea from beneath a pile of box-office gold while she’s at it?
First Charlie’s Angels, and now this? I feel like I’m a creepy high-schooler all over again. I will watch this, I cannot tell a lie. Okay, I can lie like nobody’s business, but right now I’m being truthful.
I say go for it, can’t be any worse than the first two installments.
Thank goodness Jolie won’t be in yet another movie. I guess their nannies take care of those kids they keep having/adopting. They scare me.
I will see it only if Angelina is Lara Croft!
People! The real question here should be how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood, not whether or not Angelina is going to star in this movie!
Rhona Mitra. She pulled it off before and has made a few movies (Doomsday, Underworld 3) that will probably be about the same level as a new Tomb Raider.

The obvious choice is Megan Fox. BUT I don’t think she’d do it. She doesn’t need to be compared to Angelina any more than she is now.
Has anyone noticed the tag team effect of Brad and Angelina. Brad had his turn now it is Angelina’s turn, next is Brad for the Oscars. These two cannot stay out of the limelight.

I read once that Michelle Rodriguez auditioned for the role back in the day but was turned down. Maybe if this new Tomb Raider focuses on a new character then definitely Rodriguez. If it’s still Lara though, then definitely Mitra.
I would only watch if Angelina were Lara Croft. Nobody else.
