'The Dark Knight' returns to IMAX: Will you check it out (again)?

Darkknightbike_dlThe Dark Knight has opened in IMAX once again! Starting today, 143 domestic screens (and 29 international!) will make it seem like Christian Bale is about to drive that thing RIGHT INTO YOUR NOSTRILS. TDK is the first major Hollywood movie to be partially shot by IMAX cameras; six sequences in particular were intended to attack you from all angles on the big screen. Check the complete list of IMAX locations at ComingSoon.net.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing TDK in IMAX, but it’s with a heavy heart. I fear it’s gonna be so good that I’ll have to relegate my current all-time favorite IMAX movie — Michael Jordan to the Max — to second place. My collection of commemorative Chicago Bulls Starter tees (repeat, three-peat, single peat, etc.) would probably never speak to me again. And then what?

Will you see The Dark Knight in IMAX again? And name your favorite IMAX scene ever! My wingspan apparently could use some expansion

I’m going to see it tonight!

I didn’t get to see in IMAX over the summer during its original release, but I will most definitely catch it this time around. I can’t wait to see it! Love LOVE Christian Bale! RIP Heath :(

  • Before Dishonor

Probably not considering I saw it twice in IMAX and have it on Blu-Ray.
I’m still fuming over the fact that it didn’t get nominated for Best Picture over Milk or The Reader. Maybe if the Joker was gay TDK would get more respect from the academy. Guess we’ll never know.

  • paige

i saw it already in the IMAX- btw- according to Joel Schumacher Batman is gay and it still wasnt nominated for Best Picture so get over yourselves. Milk was one of the best films of the year- dont be surprised it was nominated

Can’t believe how much this movie is praised. It’s overated!! The scenes where Heath was in were the best ones, but the rest of the movie was no just a tad better than the average comic flick. Sick of people saying it deserved an Oscar nom! It did not!! Fastforward 10 years and people will remember this movie for one thing and one thing only, “the last Heath Ledger movie who was great as the Joker”.

Enough with people complaining it received no best flick nom, it didn’t deserve it. Iron Man was equally as entertaining I think and it didn’t get nominated either. Don’t want to be mean, but think that Heath’s tragic death has clouded everyone’s judgement on how good this movie really is.

I might want to see it again on IMAX. I just want The Dark Knight to gross $1 billion worldwide, especially after seeing it on regular DVDs (darn me didn’t get a Blu-Ray player before I got the movie), which looks horrific and blocky!
Seriously, I’ve never seen a worse DVD transfer than the Dark Knight! It’s like Warner Bros. said “Oh hey, we shouldn’t even try to do the DVD transfer, so just go on ahead and focus on the Blu-Ray release.”

  • Eli

How else to see the BEST PICTURE of 2008! I am there!

  • claire

How about any of the scenes with the camera giving us a great view of Gotham City, whether it be night or day? Any time it would move like it’s flying–what’s the term?–I would lurch back in my seat, feeling like I’m actually there.

  • Rahul

I’ll certainly try to give the movie more business. Damn you, Harvey.

I Saw The Dark Knight Again in IMAX Last Night It was selected to be seen with Batman Begins Thats the way its truly meant to be seen back to back it was entertaining and a blast this is the way it should be seen On A Giant 4 story Screen this is a movie for the year i might see it one more time before they take off once and for all

  • Joo

I saw it in IMAX when it first came outand was very happy. Not going to see it again, but glad that they are re-releasing it!!!!

  • shirley

hey yeah i go see it.

  • Ryan

Absolutely! I’m going tonight! And probably again next week!

  • TDK4LIFE

I saw it twice already in IMAX and I am going again tonight!!!!

  • Patty

Hells yes!!!! The last two times I saw The Dark Knight in the theater was at the IMAX, and then when I watched it on DVD it just wasn’t the same. I cannot wait to see it again on the super big screen.

  • JUG

Absolutely going to see it again. It’ll be good to see how much more it can gross and some consolation that the Academy bizarrely overlooked it for best picture. In ten years time people will look back at the Oscars for 2008’s films and do a double take thinking why on earth wasn’t The Dark Knight nominated!??

  • jcarla

I hate living in South Carolina. Not one in the entire state. I would have to all the way to Augusta.

I agree with this. It was a fun movie, and I liked it a lot, but it’s not a “best picture” caliber flick.

  • Nodrog

ONCE was too much. I regret seeing this highly disturbing movie and remain disappointed that such “entertainment” is so popular. Ick. The amazing special effects and high-class acting are way insufficient to overcome the fact that this just isn’t good energy to put in your head.

  • Bob

    I am definetly going.

  • Carlos

That movie was a piece of trash…very over hyped!

  • R

No, there are other movies I haven’t seen yet and prefer to do that than see the same film again.

  • Evan

    Yes, because it’s gorgeous.

  • Doug

I can’t wait to see it again. I never had the chance to watch it in IMAX the first time around because it was always sold out. I purchased my tickets for Saturday two weeks in advance. WOO HOO!

  • Max

Carlos and Nordog, just one thing. You guys are a bunch of frustrated horse dong loving jacks. Your obviosly the one of a kind morons that deserve to be strangled. The Dark Knight is a Badass film and in Imax is just and extrodinary experience for our generation. It’s a genius film and who ever disagrees needs to be killed.

  • Cole

The Dark Knight on IMAX!!!!! thankfully warner bros rereleased this awesome film. Enjoy it while it last cause there may not be any other opportunity for this extravegant event!!!

  • Dee

Hey as for the haters and the jerks that disagree with this film being awesome, go watch your lord of the rings and eat yogurt, you losers. This film is incredible and in IMAX even more. Idiots like you didn’t deserve the chance to even watch it once. Dong lovers

  • dom

Yeas!!! for a fact THE DARK KNIGHT IN IMAX IS A GUARANTEED ROLLER COASTER RIDE!! WHOOO HOOO!!!! I’M THERE!!!

  • Magness

Just saw it again and it should be up for Best Picture. That is a joke! Maybe I should see The Reader in IMAX before I judge
