This week was a good one for pop music: American Idol made its triumphant return, and we got new singles from two of my favorite pop divas, Britney Spears and Kelly Clarkson. Spears’ clever/inappropriate (you decide!) ”If You Seek Amy” and Clarkson’s rocking (thank goodness!) ”My Life Would Suck Without You” got you guys talking. Here’s what else did:
10. Amy Wilkinson brought us up to speed on the latest episode of The Biggest Loser. Side note: I don’t know how thrilled she is that Brit co-opted her name for a semi-vulgar pop song.
9. Oriana Schwindt told us why we shouldn’t watch awards shows with Tina Fey haters. I, for one, didn’t realize such a person existed.
8. Lynette Rice recapped Grissom’s goodbye episode of CSI.
7. Ann Coulter’s appearance on The View made Elisabeth Hasselbeck look like the calm, composed, sane one.
6. Mike Bruno will keep watching American Idol for one reason: Bikini Girl.

If You Seek Amy is a very clever title. I think it works. Plus, I like the song.
I am having a hard time getting used to Kelly Clarkson’s new song. It sound like something Hilary Duff would sing. I guess I thought Kelly was going to be a bit edgier. I was wrong. Oh, well.
Inregards to KC this is only her first single…she is trying to get back on top 40 radio and dominate. This will help her get back in and on top!!! When she made My December she told her team that after that she would do what ever they wanted and unfortunatly its supper pop!! Even though I LOVE MY DECEMBER!! Shes going to bring it!! She has said in interviews that the album is 70s/pop/rock and ballad along with some UK type music! Im very excited…cus every Kelly CD is very diff from eachother!!
My Life Would Suck Without you is completely differnetly from anything Kelly has ever done before, which is a good thing because artist need to reinvent themselves to keep their music fresh and not sound like a repeat of a previous album. I believe All I Ever Wanted will be my favorite album when it comes out on March 10th. It’s going to be a smash hit, maybe even bearing out Clarkson’s 2004 album Breakaway, with the first single going to #1 on iTunes within 24 hours I’d as IRS a definite possibility!
