Who doesn’t love a good standards-and-practices story?* Last spring, during a panel discussion at the Paley Center for Media, Bones exec producer Stephen Nathan and creator Hart Hanson shared a few of the classic battles they’ve waged against Fox’s censors over the years. How many times a season do you think they play the Jack Bauer card?
*Also an excuse for us to remind you that Bones moves to a new timeslot, Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET, on Jan. 22.

Who was that in the Idol tee, and where was TJ Thyne? I don’t think he was the one in the Idol tee…
To Sara — the guy in the American Idol tee was the actor who plays Zach (I forget his name).
Good eye, dre, thanks.
If the Fox Standards & Practices people are like what Hanson describes, I’m guessing he has to play the Jack Bauer card just about every episode. There is some pretty disgusting stuff on the show, though – don’t get me wrong, I love ‘Bones’ but I have to remind myself not to eat while I’m watching. Erk.
The office manager/elevator shaft this season…
My boss said her 8-yr-old walked into the room while her hubby was watching the elevator shaft episode, and they ended up having to stay up with the little guy all night because his nightmares were so bad.
Bones is one of my favorite shows, but yeah, I would have been okay with a little more censoring in that episode.
By the way, the actor who plays Zach is named Eric Millegan. Fortunately, he’s better at acting than he is at selecting flattering eyewear.
Okay, so the glasses aren’t that bad close up. They just look pink from a distance.
Yeah, where WAS TJ Thyne?
I was there (you can see my head!) and TJ was sick that night. One bit that cracked me up was they were talking about the Fox message boards and Eric said he did read them. Stephen or Hart was like “user name RedGlasses21″ Maybe you had to be there…:)
