Predictable. Drooling over skinny bikini girl. Stupid jokes (coming out of closet, Ryan kissing a irl, high fiving blind guy). Need more trainwrecks and good singers, less mediocre. Kara does bring some validity to the judging.
They can fire Kara now. She added nothing to the show except more time to jibber jabber. Paula will be FOREVER YOUR GIRL at that judging table. I’ll have the remote close to mute Kara’s comments. As Simon would say, Kara is FORGETTABLE!
Bikini Girl was sent through for comic relief. In truth, she had a decent voice, but she doesn’t have that special quality that makes an idol. Hence, the bikini.
There were some interesting voices–looking forward to hearing more of the good stuff. Glad to see Idol back.
Kara adds nothing at all to the show, and her comment to every audition that didn’t completely suck was “I’m surprised” or “your voice is suprising.” Get a new word or better yet get off the judges’ stand! The show was better with just three.
you’re gay
I can’t take anything this writer says seriously after reading his review where he calls “Straight Up” by Paula Abdul a classic.
I thought that they were supposed to focus more on talent. I CAN’T STAND watch people they put through to this point just to humiliate them. I watched almost an hour of the show and saw about 2 golden tickets. The rest were the total rejects. Then I saw a quick flash of the others that got through. Let’s see the auditions of EVERYONE who makes it to Hollywood so I can start figuring out who my favorites are before I have to start voting!
is ryan used to kissing a girl? because that part w/ bikini girl was all sorts of awkward/uncomfortable. come out of the closet ryan.
kara i think held her own, and like what the other judges said before, did not ruin the dynamic of the three. i think she fit in and proved that she is more useful than paula (and maybe even randy)… except paula brings in the train wreck entertainment.
The new judge is complete dead weight. She adds zero to the show.
Has there been any talk of doing and Idol special showing all the winners of the 7 seasons from the beginning with their try outs and then how they progressed thru the season..how they changed and where they are now?
I thought they were going to be more sensitive towards contestants that were already emotionally fragile. It doesn’t appear that was the case last night.
i think the judges were fair, but very rude to some, especially the baritone voiced guy. he was so sincere and kind and they all raked him over the coals. i thought it to be ridiculous to ridicule a person like that. they should have suggested that hey go to a quartet or something like that. his voice is very good quality, just not for this competition.
AI is doing everyone a diss-service by allowing those non-talented goofs have airtime. By doing so, they invite more “talent” challenged folks next year. I want to see talent not emotionally fragile, talentless, over-enabled losers.
I would like to see a network come up with a reverse American Idol. It would be a show with already famous contestants who don’t deserve to be famous. If they can’t prove that they have contributed anything original, they would no mlonger be allowed tt be considered famous. We have enough famous people who really haven’t done anything.
was not impressed at all!! In fact, I turned it off..quite boring and same old stuff.. I was very disappointed!! I think enough is enough..
