This would all matter more if Britney didn’t stink. On toast. Neener!
I love the current teen pop now that I am an adult, and it makes me all the more angry that I was offered such garbage as an actual teen.

How lame that this post doesn’t have a link to the actual song.. What a lazy blogger.

I have to say, the first time I heard this song, I thought, “WTF? Is this some new game that’s sweeping the club nation? Is seeking Amy a euphemism for doing coke?” I had to listen to it at least three more times to get it.
Here’s the thing: If “I Kissed A Girl” was kind of crass and (more than) a little slutty, then “If You Seek Amy” is a full-on whore job. Katy Perry’s song is like the coy little high-schooler who might do stuff with you in the parking lot after school, but is probably just flirting to flirt. Britney’s song is more like an aging, desperate hooker who needs your money in order to pay her pimp or else she’ll get yet another black eye.
The song isn’t nearly as clever as it thinks it is, but if I ever hear it when I’m at a club, I (and probably everyone else) will be too busy dancing like a fool and singing along to care. It’s not a great choice for a radio single (Unusual You and Mannequin are both better), but it’s a heck of a lot better than Womanizer.

Loving it! I am not a big Britney fan but I can’t get this song out of my head. If You Seek Amy is defenitly a great pop song. What is with the womanizer comparison? they sound nothing alike. I wasn’t really into Womanizer but this song is tight!

get a grip people. it’s not really possible for them to have a line in the song which works both ways with ‘if you seek amy’ and ‘f-*-c-k me’.

  • Amy

After saying it aloud a lot of times, I never got it. so I read the comments below to see what it stood for, and it’s really lame… eye roll reaction that came from me. This also does not have to do with the fact that my name is Amy either.
    It’s Childish…

I love this song! It’s fun and I can’t wait to hear it on the radio. Next she needs to release “Kill the Lights”. that song is so glittery.

Oh Britney, you saucy minx. You’ve mastered 12 year old locker room humor. What’s next? Knock-knock jokes?

  • Brett

Sorry…anyone that has to read through the comments to figure out what it means probably shouldn’t be calling it “childish”….otherwise you probably should have picked up on it sooner.

  • David

    I love it
    F u c k me!!!!!!!!
    It’s clever

  • Kalie

    Childish.

  • Amber

Ok I must admit that I’ve had the album since it came out last month and I always loved this song but never really understood what it meant, like others I thought it was about finding drugs. OK so it’s not the cleverest but I love the beat.

  • Lauren

That’s incredibly lame. But mostly because it only works if you purposefully enunciate weird.
