I have a dream, Idoloonies. And in that dream, the Jan. 16 premiere of Idolatry would feature guest performances by Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia Barrino, Elliott Yamin, and the winners of Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew, as well as a helicopter that would lift me from the roof of EW’s office building while I passionately debate the merits of Blake Lewis’s "You Give Love a Bad Name" with my colleague Kristen Baldwin. But since we don’t have that kind of budget (yet) — I am counting on you to make it happen, Congress! — you’ll have to settle for some homespun choreography and over-the-cubicle banter when Idolatry‘s third season kicks off Jan. 16. Oh, I SO cannot wait for Idolatry to return. The first month of Idol is stupid, but you guys make the loooong time waiting for the actual show to begin tolerable. Let’s go, Slezak, etal. (Oh, and I’m waiting for Cook’s goodbye song, assuming there is one.

Hello all! I am so effing(hate/have to) excited about the new season of Idolatry. Idol may suck but Idolatry never will. I feel that this is going to be a big season for them. I have been putting positive vibrations out for a soul singer. Not since Fantasia has an Idol been worthy of the throne. I want to see someone that deserves it, a true entertainer. A stage presence that only Carly had last year. Maybe next season it’ll be me.
I don’t watch Idol, but I never miss Idolatry.
