The best dress was the one that Rafika Chawishe was wearing!!!!!It was desighned based on Gustav Klimts images!!!! All the actresses were going to her and telling her she had the best dress. Perhaps you don’t know her yet, I didn’t too, but I was there at the Golden Globe Awards as a journalist and found all about her. She now does her first steps. She is an actress and a director

It probably risks being over-used already, but “Deal with it, Cate Blanchett” is my new put-down. And for please!, I don’t think Cate said anything – I think Tracy just arbitrarily pulled her name out of the hat, which makes it so brilliant. A variant might be “Deal with it, Tom Berenger”

glad slumdog’s world-music dance-friendly soundtrack won – hope the song used for the high-energy bollywood dance number ending gives springsteen competition for best song oscar; loved in bruges & colin farrel’s win but was annoyed by robert downey’s princess attitude in the audience (though i like his acting on screen); were drew & jessica channeling their grey garden’s characters’ hair & dresses as addled, entitled frowzy new england aristocracy? & would you pay to see sasha baron cohen & ricky gervais improvising a movie about having sex together with the hollywood foriegn press association?

Yay for Kate Winslet, Laura Linney, Tina Fey and A R Rahman! Looks like Leo will bcome the male version of Kate Winslet for a bit. His performances are always perfect but too perfect, they’re not showy enough for awards I guess. But haven’t seen Wrestler so this may not be the best year to say this.

I am sure I am in the minority here: but I really didnt think Slumdog was that great- it was good- but I wouldnt put it on my Top 5 of the year, let alone as the best Picture of the year… here’s hoping it gets a big backlash before the Oscars…

Hope for Kate’s sake that she doesn’t have Sigourney Weaver’s fate. 20 years ago she won Best Supporting Actress for Working Girl and Best Actress for Gorillas In The Mist and although she was nominated for both at the Oscars, she came up empty.

I cannot believe the winnners of the wards. How Rourke won the Best Actor is beyond me. the others were so far superior to this “loser”.
