What episode is saved on your DVR for a pick-me-up?

Nciszivatony_l_2

It’s been a year since I confessed that I had an episode of October Road (and four Hee Haws) saved on my DVR for whenever I needed a pick-me-up. I’m happy to report that those have long been deleted. Now, I’m holding on to an episode of Bones (because Booth cowering in front of a demonic clown in the Dungeon of 1000 Corpses reminds me that stress can be funny), the series finale of Boston Legal (because seeing Alan and Denny on that balcony reminds me that love isn’t just for people sleeping together), and two installments of NCIS (because Tony slapping his ass and asking Ziva to rate it, and Ziva falling on top of Tony to shield him from a ricocheting bullet and lingering, pictured, is just…kinda hot).

Your turn.

The Victoria Beckham NBC Special, the episode of Entourage when they went to Joshua Tree, the episode of HIMYM with the Interventions, and the entire fourth season of It’s Always Sunny. Those are my pick me up’s!

  • Henry

I saved “The Job” episode of The Office whenever I wanted a pick-me-up for about six months after it aired. I smile whenever I see Pam’s wide smile at the end (you know why if you’ve seen the episode). Just that whole talking head makes me happy.

  • Corinne

It’s been deleted recently but I had “Thank You”, an Angel episode on there for a long time. It’s the one where Cordie comes out of her coma to help Angel get back on track. I loved the kiss at the end!

  • Henry

Oh, oh! And the “Slap Bet” and “Ten Sessions” episodes of HIMYM!

  • Fatima

This is really dumb but I will never delete the Rosie/Elisabeth blowout from my tivo. I know it’s on YouTube but I just can’t get rid of it. I’ve shown it to curious people more than a few times too.

  • Michelle

I have episode one season 4 of Supernatural.
    I just can’t delete it.
    not yet.

  • Sabrina

So You Think You Can Dance, Season 1, Final 4. Pure brilliance.

Episodes of the Office with Essential Jim/Pam moments:
When Jim tells Pam he loves her
When Pam walks across the hot coals and tells Jim she misses him
When Jim asks Pam out on a date
    When Jim proposes to pam
When Pam comes back from New York
When Jim buys the house for Pam
These always put a smile on my face.

  • Nancy

I have a St Patrick’s Day episode of “Ryan’s Hope,” so I can watch Helen Gallagher sing “Danny Boy.”

  • K

I also have the “Thank You” episode of Angel saved…I will forever love Buffy and Angel as a couple, but that kiss at the end was one of the best, most emotional moments in all the seasons of the two shows combined. I cried to an hour after that. And I have the ballet episode of Angel saved as well. It’s just an hour of perfect TV.

I gotta say when I get up in the middle of the night I like something that won’t make me tense. I save “Murder She Wrote’s” and “love actually” or Monk

  • Sheila

Gavin and Stacey from BBC America. The sweetest and quirkiest show I’ve seen in a long time.

  • karen b

I save multiple HIMYM, but older episodes would be:
    ‘Fagel Attraction’- Will & Grace
‘A Chorus Lie’- Will & Grace
… and the episode of Frasier where they think he’s Jewish (or the one where they think he’s gay… both classics!)

  • NineDaves

i finally had to buy them off itunes because i couldn’t keep them on my dvr anymore. but whenever i’m feeling down, it’s either himym’s “slap bet” episode (robin sparkle’s “let’s go to the mall” is so enjoyable, i can’t even handle it), or it’s 30 rock’s carrie fisher episode. “oh come on liz – it’s the 90s!” brilliant.

  • Nicole

2 Scrubs episodes — The Musical and My Half Acre — only for Turk’s dance!

  • Stef

I keep episodes of House and the Office on my DVR — always good for some laughs. And for good ol’ fashioned comfort viewing, I have some of the Harry Potter movies recently aired during ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas. Yeah, yeah, I know, maybe embarassing but I’m a nerd and okay with it!

  • Melissa

Random saved episodes of Gilmore Girls! They are all pick me ups for me!

  • mk

Still have Pink Floyd’s set at Live 8 from July 2005.

  • asdfjkl;

I have “Jones” episode from Criminal Minds — it is where JJ meets the hot detective from New Orleans and “Snow Day” from CSI:NY where Danny/Lindsay get together. “Hellfire” and “Give Me A Sign” from Charmed because those were really cute episodes with Antonio Sabato, Jr. as Bane.

    5. 2006 rose bowl (when ut beat usc–sorry, ausiello)
    4. it’s always sunny in philadelphia, “sweet dee is dating a retarded person”
    3. project runway, season 4 finale. (i cry whenever i watch christian win)
    2. project runway, season 4 “en garde!”, when christian and chris designed that phenomenal couture gown with 45 yards of ruffled layers
    1. any episode of “the golden girls,” “arrested development,” or “30 rock”

  • Anthony

I have two episodes of The Golden Girls. The mystery dinner one and the live-in nurse for Sophia one. “Not for you nursey nurse nurse nurse!”

  • JC

I also have multiple episodes of HIMYM for pick-me-up. the latest one is the NAKED MAN episode… the part when Ted and Barney do poses (especially Ted’s Coppertone baby)gets me rolling on the floor every single time

  • BrandonK

I record episodes of “Family Guy” on three different channels so I always have something mindless to fall happily asleep to…I also have all of the episodes of “Little Britain USA” saved on my DVR, just in case!

  • jamie

I too love that BONES episode. I am also scared of clowns, every time I watch it, I rewind it 10 times when Booth screams.
Also, SNL with Justin Timberlake hosting last year…it makes me laugh every tine I watch it. That show should have him more often!

  • Rose Tyler

    1. the last new episode of Doctor Who(the doc and rose kissing makes me happy)
    2. the last new episode of Lost(Ben always makes me happy)
    3. the last new episode of BSG(because the wait as been too long and painful)

  • JMC

I still have the episode of ST: Enterprise where Trip gets pregnant… on VHS. More recently, I like to watch HIMYM’s Okay Awesome over and over again.

  • Laura

I just deleted the Office where Jim tells Andy all the wrong ways to impress Pam – it ends with Andy singing The Rainbow Connection to Pam in Pig Latin while he plays his banjo. Michael is also Prison Mike in it. It’s fantastic, but I need a new pick me up.

  • Nerwen Aldarion

I don’t have those episodes of NCIS one my DVR but I do have them on DVD, but you missed one. Under Covers, got to be one of the best in TV history, who doesn’t love a beaten up Tony turning to Gibbs and Ziva and exclaiming “I want a divorce.” and where would all the Tiva fans be without the infamous phrase, “My little hair butt”

  • Caitin

I have the Scrubs Musical episode saved on my DVR. It may be juvenile, but nothing seems as bad after “everything comes down to poo.”

  • Kate

I’ve got Legally Blonde the Musical from when it was on MTV… I love Christian Borle.
AND! The one that I will never delete – the skit on SNL where Peyton Manning in on the basketball team and Will Forte is the coach and he plays the song then starts to dance. I could watch that 100 million times. It always makes me laugh to see all the cast laughing.
This makes me think – I really wish Tivo would create a way you could go back and save just a part of an episode. There are quite a few shows I’ve got saved where I have the whole show just so i can see a 3 minute part. But that takes up room. I’d really like to save just some parts.
And I wish it would somehow allow you to mark parts so you know how you can skip to 15 minutes in and 30 and 45. I wish you could skip to certain other parts that you could mark yourself.
