What episode is saved on your DVR for a pick-me-up?

It’s been a year since I confessed that I had an episode of October Road (and four Hee Haws) saved on my DVR for whenever I needed a pick-me-up. I’m happy to report that those have long been deleted. Now, I’m holding on to an episode of Bones (because Booth cowering in front of a demonic clown in the Dungeon of 1000 Corpses reminds me that stress can be funny), the series finale of Boston Legal (because seeing Alan and Denny on that balcony reminds me that love isn’t just for people sleeping together), and two installments of NCIS (because Tony slapping his ass and asking Ziva to rate it, and Ziva falling on top of Tony to shield him from a ricocheting bullet and lingering, pictured, is just…kinda hot).

Your turn.

The Victoria Beckham NBC Special, the episode of Entourage when they went to Joshua Tree, the episode of HIMYM with the Interventions, and the entire fourth season of It’s Always Sunny. Those are my pick me up’s!

I saved “The Job” episode of The Office whenever I wanted a pick-me-up for about six months after it aired. I smile whenever I see Pam’s wide smile at the end (you know why if you’ve seen the episode). Just that whole talking head makes me happy.

It’s been deleted recently but I had “Thank You”, an Angel episode on there for a long time. It’s the one where Cordie comes out of her coma to help Angel get back on track. I loved the kiss at the end!

Oh, oh! And the “Slap Bet” and “Ten Sessions” episodes of HIMYM!

This is really dumb but I will never delete the Rosie/Elisabeth blowout from my tivo. I know it’s on YouTube but I just can’t get rid of it. I’ve shown it to curious people more than a few times too.

I have episode one season 4 of Supernatural.
    I just can’t delete it.
    not yet.

So You Think You Can Dance, Season 1, Final 4. Pure brilliance.

Episodes of the Office with Essential Jim/Pam moments:
When Jim tells Pam he loves her
When Pam walks across the hot coals and tells Jim she misses him
When Jim asks Pam out on a date
    When Jim proposes to pam
When Pam comes back from New York
When Jim buys the house for Pam
These always put a smile on my face.

I have a St Patrick’s Day episode of “Ryan’s Hope,” so I can watch Helen Gallagher sing “Danny Boy.”

I also have the “Thank You” episode of Angel saved…I will forever love Buffy and Angel as a couple, but that kiss at the end was one of the best, most emotional moments in all the seasons of the two shows combined. I cried to an hour after that. And I have the ballet episode of Angel saved as well. It’s just an hour of perfect TV.

I gotta say when I get up in the middle of the night I like something that won’t make me tense. I save “Murder She Wrote’s” and “love actually” or Monk

  • Sheila

Gavin and Stacey from BBC America. The sweetest and quirkiest show I’ve seen in a long time.

I save multiple HIMYM, but older episodes would be:
    ‘Fagel Attraction’- Will & Grace
‘A Chorus Lie’- Will & Grace
… and the episode of Frasier where they think he’s Jewish (or the one where they think he’s gay… both classics!)

i finally had to buy them off itunes because i couldn’t keep them on my dvr anymore. but whenever i’m feeling down, it’s either himym’s “slap bet” episode (robin sparkle’s “let’s go to the mall” is so enjoyable, i can’t even handle it), or it’s 30 rock’s carrie fisher episode. “oh come on liz – it’s the 90s!” brilliant.

2 Scrubs episodes — The Musical and My Half Acre — only for Turk’s dance!
