Seriously, how is this movie only rated PG-13? The first time I saw the trailer (below) in the theater — and in front of something that was not a horror movie — I about wet myself.

I agree. I went to Twilight with my book club (which is pretty much a group of little old ladies). That is not the preview I wanted to see!
Me too, this is the current “cover the kids eyes!” commercial that keeps popping up…
Hear, hear! I saw this commercial once, and changed the channel every time it came on after that. The guy twisting his head sideways? The creepy undead kid? Eeeeeeek!! The commercial should be rated R!!
My 12-year-old daughter literally ran into my room last night and yelled at me,” I just saw the scariest commercial EVER!! I’m never going to be able to go to sleep”. It was for The Unborn. Doesn’t the FCC have rules about what they can show before 10 pm? And honestly, I have to close my eyes whenever the commercial comes on, too. Ick!!!!!!
Totally! My crazy 14 yr old vampire loving niece who isn’t scared of anything screamed at this trailer.
How come we can have terrifyingly creepy commercials like this on network TV during prime time, but it takes something as tame as a butt or a nipple to send the PTC over the edge in terms of what children should be watching?
Scariest thing since that Emily Rose movie trailer. HATE IT!
This movie looks pretty dang weird and creepy. But what I want to know is, is who is this lovely looking lady thats in it? She looks a lot like Megan Fox. Perhaps sans the weirdness? Me likey
ugh, i felt the same way about the “taken” trailer before benjamin button. one of the most frightening trailers i’ve ever seen – i remembered it more than the entire movie. i’m dreading when it’s close enough to the release date to be on television, because i may have to stop watching entirely.
PeterBilt – the young lady is Odette Yustman who was also in Cloverfield. Much better looking (and classier) than Ms. Fox.
I HATE this trailer, and what I hate most about it is they insist on showing it during prime time when my kids could possibly see it and I’ll be up all night with them having hideous nightmares. Just another reason to keep the useless TV off. Good job, Networks!
Whew! I’m so glad I’m not the only person who thought this trailer was scary. I hate scary movies anyway, but this trailer freaks me out. My daughter caught part of it during the holidays and asked me to change the channel.
It looks like they showed all the good parts in the trailer. It doesn’t look scary at all.
Yes! This trailer freaks me OUT! And I see it at all hours so I know kids are seeing it!
It looks really good.
And these “Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the children!?” posts are cracking me up.
Wait until you have kids, then you’ll understand.
Snarf, you obviously don’t have kids, much less be able to deal with a frantically scared and screaming one.
Snarf, shut your pie hole. You don’t know what parents go through.
I could not stand to watch this trailer in the theater. I had to close my eyes. It is so evil. Can’t imagine sitting through the whole movie. Then, I come home and see it on TV when my kids are watching. The commerical wasn’t as bad on TV, but it still shouldn’t be shown at all. I am so glad I am not the only one who feels this way. It seems like commericials are getting worse and worse.
I, too, agree! I’m not a horror person at all, and saw the frightening commercial just before heading off to bed. I knew I’d be nightmaring with those images in my head, so I stayed up and watched a sitcom. Glad it’ll be over soon!
Snarf. You either don’t have children, or if you do I feel sorry for them to have a parent that doesn’t care about what they take in. The Unborn does not look scary at all to me, but I do agree that the preview contains images that could freak out a small child. A friend and I made the mistake of going to watch Silent Hill in the theaters and someone had brought what looked to be a five to six year old child with them. I could not watch the movie without thinking about that child and the images she was taking in at such a small age. Kids have a hard enough time discerning between reality and make-believe without having these horrific scenes played out in front of their eyes. Please if you have children. Protect them. They have been given to you as a gift.
Talk about repetitive shows dulling the horror, that guy at the bottom of the stairs freaked me out the first time I saw it and I worried of my brother who while not a twin they thought he might be for awhile. Now, the father’s voice is the only thing that creeps me out.
yawn- ive seen creepier and scarier commercials on television… and i hope you parents arent showing your children the primetime news if you’re so concerned about what theyre taking in- THAT’s the stuff of nightmares…
You know what, Paige, you can shut your pie hole too with your snarky little attitude. You try being a parent these days. You wouldn’t last two minutes.
Hate the trailer, not for the so called scariness, but because it looks really dumb.
I had nightmares about the TV commercial for “It’s Alive” for YEARS.
I looked at it recently and it’s super-cheesy — and I wanted to laugh — but it STILL creeped me out. Date of first terror: more than 30 years ago.
Ick … how *could* Gary Oldman lower himself to do this??
This movie looks great. Get over the trailers people.
Two Dexter regulars, that’s got to be a record.
!!!!!!
i totally agree!!!!!!
