While the romantic in me always hopes for a happy ending to each season of this show … not doing so well thus far … I really watch to see how totally unaware people(particularly the women), are of the impressions they make. Many seem clueless of the bachelor’s body language when they are saying/doing their “eccentric” thing.
I was watching last night with a Bachelor virgin and trying to explain the show. Although this season they seem to have lowered the bimbo factor considerably we were trying to figure out who Jason would pick based on how they acted and what they said to him. We were bang on with each one. Love Chris and the blog (just like Jeff’s) and like Chris, I was amazed that ANYONE would try that gross teeth thing again … and actually think that it would make a good first impression! Hope that Jason is not crying over bitchy Deanna! Never cared for her even with Brad … Maybe he will make a return appearance too. Oh the hi-jinx!!!

Thanks for the great details Chris. Why is there such a lack of diversity with this show over the last 13 seasons? You rarely see any minorities and if you do they never have a real chance because the bachelor/bachelorette have not dated outside of their race. There has never been a minority bachelor or bachelorette and there are just as many african american women looking for a man. Also, why not some plus-sized women? Most viewers do not have bikini-ready bodies.

I always wonder how the bachelor or bachelorette can remember all 15 names the first night. Do they have them written somewhere?

Amilah, if you’ve ever seen the show Flava of Love, I think you will find the answer to your question.

Great blog – and you are gorgeous. I’ve been watching the show for a long time … love it. My only comment is for those Texas-born hopefuls. Come on – I’m a Texan as well and believe me – our southern accents are noted already without the extra “Ellie-May” spin. Gosh that makes me mad – and embarrassed. xo

Maybe it is Deanna that he is engaged too?????

Great job with the blog! Thanks for the unseen info. Great job and looking forward to the next one.

I hope Jason sees through the glitz and decides of a down-to-earth sweet lady. Deanna — go home!! For you, the grass is always greener……….. Get some professional help.

I once watched a fascinating show like this called The Littlest Groom. Like most everyone here I’m sure, I was absolutely transfixed to the screen from the start of the first episode, each episode throughout the season, and right up to the final moments of the finale where America finally found out which little bride Glen chose. I dont think we’ll ever forget that moment. If I’m not mistaken, it’s still the fourth most viewed television show ever, trailing only the littlest episode of MASH and the two littlest Super Bowls. I was wondering, can anyone tell mewho has been the littlest Bachelor? Any plans for an even littler Bachelor?

  • Tara

Dan, I couldn’t agree with you more. I absolutely LOVED The Littlest Groom!! ABC should bring that show back. Chris, could you host?

  • Swanee

Good for you Chris! You’ve always maintained a genuine quality about your hosting and it keeps the show grounded – even with all the drama…fake or otherwise. Here’s a question: what is the time period from start to finish and afterwards when Jason and whomever has to be apart? 6 weeks? 3 months?

  • Assumption

I think Deanna is just giving Jason advice about how to pick someone.

I have been a fan of Bachelor/Bachelorette since it’s inception. Like others, I would love to know why there is such limited diversity on these shows. Why not have an african american, or any minority for that matter, as the Bachelor or Bachelorette? Do you fear for some reason that the ratings would be lower? Never understood that.

  • Lauren

to skritty: I just saw your response about minorities. Believe it or not, there are millions of polished, professional, talented, beautiful people of color in the world too–all looking for love like anyone else. Flavor of Love and I love New York are insulting IMO. There’s much more to the minority community than meets some eyes.
