There is no FCC oversight on cable. The reason that most cable channels keep the language clean is to pacify advertisers because the world can’t possibly survive with any “bad” words, huh? Seeing endless stories of people being butchered on the news is what bothers me that my kids see, not hearing some words.
AC and Kathy are great because she’s constantly fishing trying to get AC to reveal his personal side that is endlessly hidden.
Kathy’s goal was to get him fired by midnight although the real zinger didn’t happen until after the ball dropped. I’m sure one of Andy’s balls dropped too. That’s ok…we laughed our butts off.
Kathy Griffin is a pig. She really shouldn’t be allowed on television at all. She’s been banned on shows already so I hope CNN will do the same.
CNN will have sunken very low if they allow this piece of trash woman to get away with her rude and vile comments.

kathy and AC were super cool and funny. if the up tight people didn’t like it there are hundreds of other channels out there. she ROCKS and he so does he. thanks you CNN for lightening up a little. chill out people!
lol. i wouldn’t mind seeing a more R-rated NYE countdown..maybe HBO can swipe griffin for it next year? =)
Dumb and Dumberrer
These two were hilarious last night, Anderson and Kathy make an entertaining team. My friends and I couldn’t stop laughing over how Sean Callebs hated the people in New Orleans (some of whom were giving him the bird behind his back in one segment) or how Kathy so desperately was restraining herself from talking about the British correspondent.
This is the 2nd year in a row that AC and KG hosted – those viewing knew what they’d be getting into. KG is known for speaking her mind and not caring what others thing – that’s one of the many reasons we love her. Hello – she told Jesus to suck it at her emmy award speech, which most people took out of context – she was making a statement about how obnoxious it is for people to dedicate awards like it to Jesus/God.
I wonder how many people who spewed hatred about KG actually watched the broadcast or are just jumping on the KG-trashing bandwagon.
It’s freaking NYE not coverage of the Middle East; if you want something WASPY, perpendicular and proper, invite Lawrence Welk’s ghost channeled by Miss Cleo (Call Me Now!) to “rock” in the new year from the beyond.
I love them both separately and they are hilarious together! I love that he laughs and seems to find her as funny, over the top and outrageous as everyone else does. He does tell her when she has gone too far. It’s the only thing that makes New Yera’s Eve television watchable!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to CNN for providing an entertaining alternative to the boring network NYE coverage! Anderson and Kathy are hilarious together! I’ll watch anything they host!
All my friends and I screamed with delight when this happened, but yeah… hopefully the network doesn’t go crazy and pull her for next year. This was the funniest broadcast all last night.
By the way, their footage of Key West has me wanting to go next year. I wanna see a drag queen lowered down at midnight in person!
As for Lil Wayne, he actually called her “Kathy Griffin Lee” as if he didn’t know who she was, and then they cut him off.
Funny times.
I love the show – it is the only thing worth watching. The only thing that could make it better would be if Kathy could let go completely. More Kathy & AC — less everyone else.
Kathy is a breath of very FRESH air on what is usually a stuffy show. I love the banter between the very buttoned up Anderson and Kathy. For those who want the cheesy New Year’s Rockin Eve version there’s always Ryan Seacrest!
Am I the ONLY person in America who heard Griffin make the crude oral sex comment to Cooper just before a commercial break? I DID see one Youtube posting of it, but have read NOTHING yet about the comment.
