Philip Seymour Hoffman would be awesome as The Penguin. I also really like the Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Angelina Jolie or Kate Beckinsale as Catwoman rumors.
Admittedbly, PSH would be amazing as Penguin. I’m not a big comic-book person myself, though I adore Chris Nolan’s Batman, but I’m guessing there are more villains in the Batman world other than the ones they’ve already done in previous movies? So why not go do something they haven’t done already? There’s gotta be a good villain in there somewhere that would be a good fit for this Batman, and not stupid redoes of Catwoman or whatever, which would be completely awful.
But FIRST priority needs to be getting Nolan officially on board for a third. I know he wants to do it–but didn’t he say there needed to be a good story there for him to continue? He’s the key to making another great film, obviously.
Johnny Depp as The Riddler would be AMAZING. That’s just perfect casting right there. I’m wondering when they’ll bring in Robin…if they’re going to keep making movies past the third one, I can see how they might postpone his arrival, but I can’t imagine who they’d cast.
I have always liked robin but since this is the last one I dont know how hell fit in. Shia Lebeouf is a good actor though and he would be alright. Eddie Murphy cannot be riddler!
Ledger didn’t redefined the Joker, he brought him back to it’s true original form. That’s how the character was intended to be all along. J. Nicholson mess it up as well as all the other actors that portrayed villians in all the horrible Shoemaker/Burton crapathons. PSH as Penguin is an excellent choice keeping in mind he is NOT another version of Joker; it’s a completely different bad guy with a completely different criminal agenda.
They do need a couple more bad guys to round out the Gotham Nolan’s brought back from the original Detective Comics….
