Okay, so I think I just figured out what’s wrong with almost every major televised awards ceremony in this country, but especially the Grammys: They Read the full post.

I’ll give you that Christina was restrained, but did it seem like she had a clue what she was singing? She’s no Nina Simone, that’s for sure.

Content wrapped, rewrapped and re-re-packaged, check.
Now just call S&P for the AAA rating, and then instead of the complete crap that the songs, shows, AND reviews are, you can pretend it’s something of actual value!

Hey Taylor Swift is a good girl and did pretty good last night. LEAVE HER ALONE!
And the Jonas Brothers totally deserve this Grammy. I’m so happy for them.LEAVE THEM ALONE TOO!

Mariah’s opener was a tad stiff – but who wouldn’t appear completely pissed off when they realize they agreed to peform for a nominations concert and weren’t going to receive any nominations?
The fact that E=MC2 got no nominations is utterly ridiculous. Mariah is typically ignored by the Grammys (with wins for her debut and Mimi), so I guess this year shouldn’t be any different. But that woman, well into her 18 year of superstardom, put out an outstanding R&B/Pop album, and it is a shame it went unnoticed.

  • WTF

Jonas Bros???? Gimme a break!!!!! Those kids are diving crazy all the teenagers based on looks no singing skills… Every time, i hear them singing, i switch the station… Leona should have been nominated instead.
I don’t think I’ll be tuning in February to watch the show….

  • WTF

oh, i forgot.. Foo Fighters.. mmmm, i think you guys know that you totally s@ck!!!
Good thing you were not auditioning for American Idol in front of Simon. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have made pass the first round!

What the heck??? Nothing from Mariah’s E=MC2 album got nominated?
Sorry, but Touch My Body broke records and is one of the most succesful Pop songs of the year.
It’s RUDE to ask her to come and sing and snub her. BUT THEN AGAIN, the Grammys snub her EVERY YEAR.
2006: After the success of the Emancipation of Mimi, the Grammys nominated her for 8 awards, and gave her 0 on air.
1996: After the mega-smash album, Daydream and its single, One Sweet Day, which happens to be the longest running number 1 of all time, the Grammys used her to hype up the event. Putting commercials of her all over the place, yet she walked away with 0 awards, despite 6 noms.
And what other Grammy awards does she have? Umm, that would be Best New Artist… which was a LONG TIME AGO.
Get with it Grammys and take the chip off your shoulder against her. She IS the most succesful artist of all time.

Dan, I’m with you. No nominations at all for John Legend? “Evolver” is awesome. Or was the album released too late in the year to make it on the Grammy calendar?

can anyone tell me why when i click anywhere ont hsi page it sends me to some video page….very annoying

Shame on the Grammys for making Mariah perform, and giving her no nominations. She should wash her hands of them. Its almost like they have something against her…like they want to embarass her. So not watching this year.

  • Tommie

Mariah’s snub isn’t surprising, but disappointing.
The only good thing to come out of this year’s nominees would be My Morning Jacket in the Alternative category. Good luck, boys!

  • Zee

I cannot believe Mariah did not even get one nomination. What a slap in the face..Inviting her to perform knowing she wouldn’t even get nominated. I am skipping the Grammys AGAIN next year.

Martha – John Legend’s “Green Light” was nominated for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. “Evolver” came out too late for consideration this year.
