Little Ashes
Plot: Salvador Dali (Robert Pattinson), Luis Bunuel (Javier Beltran), and Federico Garcia Lorca (Matthew McNulty
Looks like: Frida, with a mustache. (Ok, Frida with a bigger mustache.)
Verdict: Who cares about the shoddy production values? We just want to see ifPattinson can pull of a real — or rather, surreal — character after vampingit up in Twilight.
Che
Plot: The life of the legendary Argentinian revolutionary (Benicio del Toro).
Looks like: Braveheart, en espanol.
Verdict: Del Toro is an uncanny match for Guevara. But at 257 minutes, the movie’s gonna need more than just one good performance to keep our attention.
Race to Witch Mountain
Plot: A tough-guy cabbie (Dwayne Johnson) picks up an usual fare: two kids (AnnaSophia Robb and Alexander Ludwig) who turn out to be powerful aliens looking for their lost spaceship.
Looks like: War of the Worlds meets Small Wonder
Verdict: The 1975 original was endearingly weird, but this glossed-up version has serious potential as a spring blockbuster — not to mention a Disneyworld ride, video game, action figure set…

Little Ashes – all the way.
Uh, you’ve got Little Ashes there twice. Unless Race to Witch Mountain is about Salvador Dali or something…
Um, it seems that the Dali film gets twice the chance to be advertised as there is no “Race To Witch Mountain” trailer available under it’s title. Hello? Editor?!
I will go see Little Ashes just because Robert Pattison is in it. Got to say the whole guy role makes him that much hotter!
I’m so excited for Little Ashes!
Do we need another Witch Mountain movie? NO!! Nothing will ever beat the original one or it’s sequel.
1) The link you provided for the 1975 version to Escape to Witch Mountain is NOT the 1975 movie (which I saw as a kid and loved it). How do you screw this up, EW?
2) I’m just not feeling it for the new version. Stick to the original one and Return From Witch Mountain. They’re Disney at their best before they became nauseating.
Here’s the actual link to the 1975 version:
It’s the opening credits, but they’re still pretty cool.
Wow, this has been up for 24 hours and clearly no one at EW has read the comments because we keep pointing out that the Witch Mountain trailer is really the Ashes trailer the second time…. Guess that makes us schmucks for thinking anyone cares…
Ugh, Che. I’ll fondly remember him in “Motorcycle Diaries,” but I’ll be skipping this. Don’t know why people feel the need to glorify this crazy terrorist.
I adore Robert! He’s talented and drop dead gorgeous. But what’s even better is he’s humble.. you just don’t find guys like that anymore. Especially famous ones. I can’t wait to watch this movie.
I’m a huge Dali fan I’m ecstatic that they are making this movie. I remember when I heard it was being shot I was incredibly eager with anticipation for the release. For what seemed an eternity ago. I saw the trailer and I’ve read various reviews and they have been nothing but positive. I read an article where one of Dali’s real friends went on the set and when he saw Pattinson he said, “That’s Dali.” On Beltran, he said he didn’t see the similarities. But yes, I think the casting was perfect. From a real fan of Dali’s I can say, it’s right.
I’m having a lovely time imagining legions of teenage girls rushing to see Little Ashes solely for Robert Pattinson, and then fuming because it’s probably far above their mental capacity (have you seen how they write, in text speak? appalling).
As a Dali enthusiast, I can say it looks interesting. It’s just amusing to think of girls seeing it for all the wrong reasons.
And of course, Che looks great.
The links to both the new Witch Mountain movie, and the “1975″ version, are WRONG. Adam Markovitz, you suck for never reading the comments on your post, or even checking such a basic thing!!! (The link to the “1975″ version goes to the much later sucky remake…)
hey i’m not a kid and even i want to watch Witch Mountain.
