Food Network: Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Why you should gobble up eight hours of gobbling: After you spent the entire day laboring over that damn turkey, it seems only fitting you should spend the better part of the next luxuriating with a man who looks like a darn chicken. A chicken who knows how to eat. Join Guy Fieri from your couch as he cruises between (and clucks among) America’s finest Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, gorging himself on the best burgers, BBQ, dogs, and fries.
Must-see episode: “The Best of…” (9 p.m.): Leftovers schmeftovers — we want a Homewrecker hot dog!
How about you, PopWatchers? Planning on a post-Turkey Day ass plant courtesy of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives? Which episode is your favorite? And come on back after you wolf down a few hours and share any thoughts/dreams/new observations you may have stumbled upon during your TV gluttony.

LOVE the one where he’s at a place in St. Louis and takes a bite of the mac ‘n cheese — he almost faints because it’s sooooo good@
Yeah, the St. Louis ep. was amazing! So funny. So touching. So fast. So simple.

Finally, EW gives a shout-out to “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”!! This show is my #1 guilty pleasure, and it’s so much fun. If you ever wanted any evidence of why Americans are so fat, you MUST watch this show. Every week the host, who is great to watch, visits greasy diners who serve giant mountains of deep fried this and syrup-covered that. But I do love this show because I can live out bad bad bad eating fantasies through watching it.
I love the Vegas one where he goes to his college hangout and learns the secret to the “‘boli” and fancifies the dough edge which makes it be not as good. Cracks me up.
Every episode is pretty awesome, though. And makes me really hungry.
Thank you for acknowledging the Food Network. Their shows are just as entertaining (plus you learn something!) as any other network. Guy Fieri is great!
This is one of my favorite Food Network shows. I like Guy Fieri’s approach of driving his 50s car to drive thrus and diners across the nation. And him tasting the food as well as talking to diners. My favorite show was when he went to some diners/drive-ins in New Jersey. Mostly it was the northeast and northern parts of the state. The food looks so tasty and mouth watering on those shows! This is a good show to watch for people who don’t like the rote, assembly line format of casual dining chain restaurants. I thought Guy was a new person–I didn’t know that he won a contest for the network. But I like his spontaneity and chance taking with this show. His spiked hair keeps him apart from the mostly conservative and safe-looking hosts of other Food Network shows.
Love this show… and I love Guy. I wish I had his job. It was a great marathon.
