A disaster-throw-it-against-the-wall-and-see-if-it-sticks excuse for a variety show. It looked like the rehearsal! How hard is variety for cryin’ out loud. Rosie may soon get “Andy Kaufman” like television status which would be a blessing!
I think it was a good effort, but it does need to be tweaked a little. My family suggested that it needed a common theme for each skit/musical number, etc. The walk-ons/flybys were okay, but the show seems to need more organization. Carol Burnett usually had a theme throughout her shows. I also think that Rosie’s variety show should be on an hour later if there will be raunchy jokes/skits. I would love to see the variety show come back. Ellen has one on TBS this Saturday. Dolly Parton tried to do one a while back with mainly singing. HeeHaw and Laugh-In were pretty good.
Very poorly done show. A real disapointment and not one I would spend watching future shows unless really desperate for lack of anythin gelse on that night.
I really wanted it to be good. I waited for it. I even TiVo’ed it.
What a shock!
From that feeble, old woman that came out of the ground, through the gay this and gay that, to the ending with a rubber turkey, as Whoopi would say, “What the Hell?!
This was one of the worst TV shows allowed to be aired in years, maybe ever. How could a legitimate “critic” give it such a glowing review? You must have been watching a different show than the rest of us. The Clay Aiken thing was worthless, an embarrasment to all the claymates of the world. Rosie is very talented. I found myself glued to the TV “rubbernecking”. I couldn’t help slowing down at looking at the wreck. I will not waste another hour in the future. Rosie please go back to being Rosie O’, smart, funny, opinionated and well, smart.
It was AWFUL. Poor NBC is so desperate. The gay jokes got OLD. I miss the old Rosie show. She wasn’t so angry & obnoxioius back then.
Glad it tanked, I won’t watch anything Rosie after the View debacle. Shame on NBC for even trying.

Some of the acts were good.. Ne-Yo !
BUT Rosie just HAD to drop in names of Trump and O’Reilly. Why would any comedy-host blab about their weight etc…ste a better example and do some exercise like other TV people who care about how they look and don’t just talk about it. Rosie is REAL insecure.
Why would a lesbian put in that junk about Baldwin talking to her breasts. It was a mess..and if Rosie really wants to bring back the Sullivan and Skelton days she need to get off HERself stuff. That crap with KGriffen and Rosie being a “bully”.. is all her self-absorbed therapy with a “family” audience who don’t care and don’t want to know her issues of the past!
She Produced this and she needs someone ELSE to do future shows if she wants to keep it going.
Liza and Alanis..YUK!!
I heard it was a real dissappointment,
not surprised though….she is a very insecure person..
What a disapointment. I love Rosie, and was looking forward to this show, but, man o man.I used to watch Sonny and Cher and Donnie and Marie back in the day and this was not even close to being as good as those shows. First off, there were to many guests. there should have been one guest, 2 at the most, and some comedy skits. I hated the dancers and spinners, but my fave part was Rosie as a cop and that chick as the little girl. Now she was funny. I am still not sure if that clip of Nancy Grace was real or made up for the show? If this show is gonna survive, it needs some serious overhauling, and fast.
You must be a c a r p e t m u n c h e r also, to write such a glowing report of the single worst television show in history. This will go down as one of the shortest series ever.
she really needs to get a life!!!!
she is a big disappointment in whatever she does…..
Shockingly TERRIBLE. and evey Rosie looked uncomfortable and strangely nervous. Too bad. I really wanted it to be good.
Really disappointed in the show. My main problem was the limitation of the venue. A studio allows for much more “variety” with sets, looks, lighting and audience reactions. Maybe some of the bits would have worked within a studio setting. 2nd, nothing new was established to take into future episodes. NBC is not always going to be able to strong arm their A talent to appear. So, the producers should have looked ahead and created a new ensemble of talent that could appear week in and week out. A Tim Conway or a Harvey Korman. Even a Vicki Lawrence. Rosie, perform, create but stop producing. You’re dreams will have a better chance of coming true if you let producers do what they do best. Produce and look at the big picture.
