All in all the show was great, the cast was great, the storyline was great, however the ending didn’t satisfy me at all. I think there should be a spin-off like for example: the new story should take place over at the eastcoast somewhere in Miami therefore the series would be called ‘The Shield:Miami’ now that wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Thanks for reading this.

Am I the only one who was hoping that the rest of the strike team (Shane, Mackey and Gardocki)would get away unscathed, maybe run away together? Knew it couldn’t happen though haha.
Watching Mackey betray Gardocki was killing me inside as I watched it!

I just watched all 7 seasons on DVD in the span on 2 months, not having cable TV and missing the entire series when it was running.

I thought Vic was gonna kill himself at the end, but when he sorta smirked realized it meant he was not broken and would endure the 3 years of cube dwelling and then start a new life.

Emotionally pistol whipped… yes. In a good way? No way. There was absolutely zero closure to the series. What, Mackey gets 3 years of “hell” for the 7 years of killing, extortion, drug dealing, and other sordid activities that we all bared witness to… not to mention what he did that developed him as a character prior to our introduction to him. Unacceptable. Without a doubt one of the best shows to ever grace the small screen, with a terribly unfulfilling end. Disappointed.

Nah, I think Vick realized who ALWAYS had his back, no matter what (besides Lem), and went to break Ronny out of police custody and go on the run with him… Maybe to someplace obscure like Uruguay… He sets up some massive, multi-gang war to distract the cops then makes his move…..guns blazing (and manages not to kill anyone in the process, despite the opportunity)

I like the ending by Steve I.

I was a rabid fan of the show and so hated Mackey over the finale that I will not watch the show again. I feel as betrayed as Ronnie!

It seemed Vic wanted to hold out to include his partner in the final immunity but his concern for his wife and children caused him to jump the gun thinking that “next week” would work out OK. Stretched too thin, trying to get money to Shane as well, he couldn’t hold it all together, and didn’t read the fine print to see what was really involved for his “final 3 years” with the Feds. The scene with Claudette and Vic was so well acted. The final scene with Vic leaving the ending to the viewer’s imagination was very well crafted. One of the better TV shows I’ve watched in a long time. Did a great job of complex characters …. But I would have preferred a happy ending for the strike force team members.

Does anyone know who played the young freckle faced African American hooker and/or the casting agency who placed her?
