After two full hours of celebrity babble, laser light shows, and filler segments of Bruno Tonioli’s weirdest sexual innuendos cobbled together into one confounding run-on sentence (kind of like this one), Dancing With the Stars announced its season 7 winner. (Update: My full DWTS TV Watch recap is liiiiive! Click here to read it!) I will tell you who the champ is! But first, a survey:
And the winner is…
BROOKE AND DEREK!

TASTE THE VICTORY, FRINGED PANTS.
Talk about the season finale here before coming back for the TV Watch in the morning! And if you’re feeling extra DANCMSTR-y, suggest some Hidden Gems for me to highlight — other than Maks playing grab-ass with Tom and Cloris wearing slippers at the Farmer’s Market, which I’ve just dutifully captured. (Typical.)

(Non)-Hidden Gem of the Night was Jeffrey Ross roasting Lance Bass with two fantastic quips that had me rolling on the floor.
I’m glad she won, and I’m glad the judges were able to keep her scores significantly higher than Warren, since it seems that it was Warren, not Lance, who posed the biggest fan threat.
Did you see bf David Charvet’s reaction to her win?
The judges were so in love with Brooke, they’d do anything to get her to win! Her freestyle did not deserve a 30 last night.
Corky put Brook on his shoulders and her dress went over his head
Best win in ages! Finally no more athletes, and Brooke had a lot to overcome, as she was probably one of the least known celebrities in terms of having a fanbase, and still managed to win! She is phenominal!
I was surprised Warren beat out Lance! After that, I knew Brooke should win, or it would kinda be like Clorky being in the top 3. I’m glad the network acknoweldged the perceived lewdness in Corky’s choreo. & Cloris was great stalking the lot…
Everybody’s dancing was better than the 1st. time around, except Kim still didn’t shake it lot she’s got it. I didn’t bother watching Clorky, they creeped me out too much before…
You all think ABC prior approved Jeffrey’s roast? I wondered, especially about his Lance darts. I didn’t think they were bad, I just thought they’d “advise him” to stay away from there, being primetime & all…
The right dancer won…two women in-a-row…go girls go!
I wanted to see Maks and Misty dance again!
For me the “hidden gem” was Derek’s inability to realize that he should let Brooke hold the trophy. After they raised it together, he grabbed hold and it was almost at the end of the telecast, behind the credits, when he let her have it again.
They both get a trophy. They are all being interviewed on kimmel, gma and the view tomorrow.
soooo happy that brooke and derek won. Imagine, the best dancer actually won, a woman and a non athlete — not since drew lacey has a non athlete won this show. Too many odds that I didn’t think it would happen and so thrilled that it did. CONGRATULATIONS — brooke and derek you deserve it.
Brooke and Derek performed the one of the best, if not THE best freestyle ever done. Thank goodness Warren did not win and thank goodness that voters actually treated this like a dancing competition for once.
If you hear cheering, it’s our whole family still screaming in joy!
Why did Carrie Ann shed tears after Brooke and Derek’s Viennese Waltz? Puhleaz!!! That woman is so melodramatic, she may beg for a cameo on All My Children. Save your tears Carrie Ann. As for Lance coming in third, I think it has something to do with his dancing partner Lacey. So many people loathe her, may be her appearance, weight and attitude? I hope ABC doesn’t re-sign her. What about bucktooth Miley? Is she pathetic or what?
Brooke & Derek did deserve to win, their “freestyle” was completely fantastic, she is a “natural.”
However, Warren coming in second just didn’t make sense. Lance is a much better dancer, a damn good dancer, so I was disappointed in that result.
Oh, well, there’s always next year!
Not surprised that Brooke won…surprised that Lancey came in 2nd. As a mom of two daughters who watch DWTS, I amglad that not every female dancer on the show is stick thin, it’s a good message in a world where “thin is in”. So before you go hating on Lacey b/c you think she is “fat” or “overweight” think again. You don’t have to like her dancing, but *don’t* hate on her body.
Regarding Rob’s ‘hidden gem’ comment…While it did seem like Derek selfishly hogged the trophy (attention-seeking much like in their dances), Brooke was barely able to hold it up on her own and she voluntarily gave it back to him rather quickly. I don’t think she was too concerned.

So the silcone enhanced little known “star” won. Big deal! Still trying to figure out exactly who she is. The judges liked to compare her to a professional dancer. Compared to the professional dancers on the show she sucks! Her freestyle was stupid and that was the ugliest outfit I have ever seen. Too bad Misty had to withdraw from the competition. I’m sure she would have given “Barbie” a run for her money.
I thought the show was phenomenal. Though not a huge Brooke supporter, she definitely deserved to win. The Sandy and Danny Zuko dance routine from Grease was again wonderfully choreographed by Derek though I would rather see Warren and Kym on the tour. Still, one of the highlights of the night was Brooke and Derek’s Vienne Waltz. She’s always had the elegance and grace to produce stunning ballroom dances and the pride showed in her smile, in her kisses to her daughters, and in the tears running down her husbands face. That was a priceless moment for this wonderful family show!!!
We enjoyed it tremendously and as always it seems to end so quickly. We will truly miss it but at least we have the reruns to watch until season 8 comes around next March.
i also thought it was tacky that brooke and derek didn’t say a word to warren and kym. it used to be tradition that the winners would hug and give props to the second place team, but that seems to have faded away during julianne’s tenure. ugh. here’s hoping for a hough-free season!
I didn’t like Derek atitude yesterday night. He wanted to win and he did. The first person to grab the trophy should have been Brooke, not him. It took him barely 2 minutes before remenbering she was the star! Several weeks ago Carrie-Ann said to Lacey that Lance was the star, not her (comments I did not understand because most of the dancers were doing that anyway)! During the entire competition she never said this comments to anyone, especially to Derek which I think over exposed himself during most of the routine.
Derek looks like a selfish arrogant guy, jealous of sister and friends, with only one goal : winning the competition for him. For all of those reasons, he doesn’t deserve to win. Even if Brooke was the best dancer in the competition. I would have prefer to see Warren or Lance winning the trophy.
I saw nothing selfish about Derek. Brooke is the winner because he let her shine when he mattered which were during the dances. Well deserved win for them both. Biggest shocker was Lance coming in third!
FYI Matt2 that geek isn’t her husband and he’s not the father of her daughters. He’s the guy who got her pregnant while she was still married to the girls’ father. Hmm, sounds like a soap opera don’t it? So much for a “family” show.
Why do people think it is okay to bash people on the Internet? Stating an opinion based on facts and supporting details is fine, but to be purposely and maliciously mean is a sad indication of where this world is headed. Would you want others to judge you that way? Now about DWTS. I thought Lance and Lacey should have been second, without a doubt. I think Lacey is a great example of the average woman and their dances were full of great moves. Derek and Brooke deserved to win – again Brooke AND DEREK. Derek did win, so let him enjoy it. He worked just as hard if not harder designing the dances. Give people a break.
I’ve never understood the Lacey dislike. Even on SYTYCD, there were a lot of people that weren’t fond of her. Yeah, she hams it up at times, but she is a fantastic dancer and I think many of her dances are really fun to watch. And I was disappointed that Maks didn’t dance last night – love the new look.
Brooke and her last husband were divorced when she became pregnant with her 3rd child. Sorry. Her ex-husband ran off and married some girl from The Apprentice. He’s a plastic surgeon. Her boyfriend now came into the picture later.
I am tired of the mention of Brookes enhancements. Any woman would give her eyeteeth to look like Brooke, so knock it off. Or is it jealousy?? She deserved to win, enhancements or not!
Get a life, people.
The dislike for Lacey (who I was also a fan of on SYTYCD) was that she had this attitude that she was better than everyone and if the judges didn’t like her style- then too bad for them! It was like she wanted them to bend to her rules!
Did anyone notice that Derek seemed to care more than Brooke? And that he snubbed her and acted like a jerk afterward about how much this win meant to him? I like him even less now!
Yep, judges consistently voted Brooke higher to throw off Warren’s popularity votes.
