People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue hits stands Friday, with Australia’s Hugh Jackman taking this year’s title. I was in complete agreement…until I flipped through the gallery teasing 15 of People’s picks, saw a photo of Mad Men’s Jon Hamm (pictured, near left), and ovulated. Recount! Vote in the poll below, please. I am confident that you will make the right decision and not be swayed by the shirtless photo of Jackman that Slezak demanded we use for this post because (a) he wants Hugh to win and (b) he is a traffic whore. (Note: There is no “other” option in our poll because there is no other option. But feel free to make your case in the comments section.)
After you vote for Hamm, let us know who else you’re hoping to see on People’s Sexiest list this Friday. The sneak peak gallery shows that the obvious choices are covered — Daniel Craig, Twilight’s Robert Pattinson, Zac Efron, Michael Phelps (I guess I’m the only one officially over that torso?), and Javier Bardem (who Slezak says could punch him in the face and still receive his vote). There’s also a few semi-surprises: Mark-Paul Gosselaar (?!), Joshua Jackson, and country singer Blake Shelton (who I’m having a beer an interview with tomorrow). Surprise, surprise, I’m pulling for Desperate Housewives‘ Gale Harold, while Slezak is lobbying for True Blood’s Ryan Kwaten (because he knows Lipstick Jungle’s Robert Buckley has already made the cut).

Hugh Jackman is the Sexiest Man Alive ™, not only because he looks good but because he can carry a comic book movie *and* win a Tony Award for The Boy Next Door (triple threat, baby!).

Ew, ew, ew! (Not Entertainment Weekly “ew”, Gross “ew.”) I clearly have different taste than People. I’ve never found Hugh Jackman to be even remotely attractive. Where’s John Krasinski?

This is Hugh’s year. If he can still look smoldering whilst soiling himself, that deserves some attention. Even though Hamm is quite the dish, Jackman’s paid his dues. Hamm’ll get it in a forthcoming year.

I’m sorry to all those GG fans out there – but Ed Westwick? Seriously? Seriously?!?!?! That kid is creeps me out. Plain and simple. It doesn’t help matters that the character of Chuck Bass makes me want to throw up. He is someone I did *not* expect to see on the list of sexiest men. Ewwww.
Gale Harold deserves to be on that list! He’s totally underappreciated and Mad Hot!
Hugh totally deserves it. Actually, he’s deserved it for a while. John Hamm can have his day. Just not this year.
And Blake Shelton was a wonderful surprise for the list. He’s delightfully sarcastic. (Ask him about his long hair! His almost-mullet was priceless.) I’d kill to see Jensen Ackles on there. The man is painfully beautiful. Looks alone should get him on teh list, even if he is on the CW.
I’m right there with ya, alexandra. Not only is he terribly piggish (in manner and appearance), but his male co-stars are PAINFULLY more attractive than he and by contrast Westwick looks even worse.

I would have gone with Chase Crawford over Westwick- he IS creepy. I’m over Michael Phelps and have been sine about 1 1/2 days after he won the 8th medal. I’ve got my fingers crossed John Kransinski made the cut and that Justin TImberlake did not.

Maybe I’m the only one, but I’m definitely hoping to see David Tennant (Doctor Who) on that list. Also, yeah, I agree with the comments about that Gossip Girl guy. He’s just creepy. No thanks.
I have to say that Hugh wins against Hamm. However, the list should begin and end with Pattinson. That hotness needs to be on the front of as many covers as possible.
Okay, yeah. Going by the photos in the SneakPeak, I’ve got to give it to Hugh Jackman. That said, the majority of the others totally bore me. I’d love to see Gale Harold and Jensen Ackles. I’d love to see Simon Baker and his oh so charming smile even more. The of course there are the men of NCIS(sexiest cast!!!) And what would really make my day is to see Ron Perlman and his tv son, Charlie Hunnam make this list.
Another reason why Jackman deserves it: he’s buff, gruff, and sexily lacking hygiene one moment, and the next he’s the Boy from Oz. Such a commendable grasp of his masculinity.
Hugh J gets my vote, mainly because I don’t know who the other dude is. Really, John Krasinski should be #1. Come on ‘People!’ Give the people what they want.

I go with Hugh over Hamm, though I would also go with Ryan Lochte over Michael Phelps. My list also includes James McAvoy and Cam Gigandet. I also agree with Ryan Kwanten…I loved him on Summerland.

I usually like Hugh Jackman, but there’s something weird about his body’s proportions. Like his head is too small. He’s tall, but he kinda has a short torso. Hmmmm, now that I think about it, I’m actually tall and have a short torso. Huh. Well, anyway… I voted for Jon Hamm.

Gee, Anne-Marie, I’m glad you can be so picky as to find those minor faults with Hugh Jackman’s body!……I voted for Hugh Jackman because there’s a bit of a blandness about John Hamm’s handsomeness. Maybe it’s just Hugh Jackman’s sexy Aussie accent that does it for me, and maybe it’s John Hamm’s Blandy McBland Mad Men character (I prefer rugged types), but I voted for Hugh.
