Watchem hands down! I gave me goosebumps! The graphics, outfits and music kicked b**t! Can’t wait to see it! Star Trek was way to cheesy!
I am a Die-Hard, in-the-trenches Trek fan. So, there was really no choice but for me to side with Kirk and the rest of the family. But, from a film composition standpoint, I still stick with Trek. Snyder really ticked me off with all the slow-motion in ’300′. The movie was lame. Come on. Admit it. But, everytime I see something created, exec-produced, produced, directed, or written by Abrams I can’t help but enjoy myself. It’s not just cleverly staged action sequences. It’s also the emotional resonance in the characters–’Lost’, ‘Alias’ or ‘Fringe’. In addition, anytime you pair writers like Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and (my favorite) Damon Lindelof together, you would be a fool to look somewhere else for a better story. Abrams, Kurtzman, Orci, and Lindelof, my hat is off to you guys. And, I haven’t even seen the frakkin’ film yet!
The Watchmen trailer inspired me to go read the grapic novel and gave me goosebumps, both times. It looks like it will be better then Star Trek.
Alas, I have too much love for Zachary Quinto, so I choose Star Trek. The chance to see him in a movie on a huge screen is too much for me.
Based on the trailers alone, Watchmen is the clear winner. Which is kind of funny, because I didn’t care for 300 and I worship J.J. Abrams. I’ll be at a midnight showing of Watchmen for certain, but I haven’t yet decided if I’m gonna be the tool who shows up at Star Trek dressed as Princess Leia when that’s out.
My concern about Watchmen is that it looks like it’s been made gorgeous and glossy and skinny and sexy and way too un-Watchmen-like. Moore broke ground by having overweight, middle-aged, not-that-great-looking folks dressing up in dorky costumes in a complex story — but in the (exciting, shiny, chic) trailer I see conventional Hollywood hot people…
Star Trek. Gotta see what JJ’s done with the franchise and Zack Quinto is one of my favorites on Heroes. As long as Whoopi Goldberg’s not in it it’ll be good.
If this movie is anti bush or war I will be super mad!!! This movie is anti society, anarchy, and thoughts of nilism.
watchmen all the way. star trek doesn’t look like its going to be a good movie. the cast of watchmen look right while the cast of star trek look like a bunch of mtv kids. watchmen looks like its going to be a good movie.
I ment to say the book is anti western society, anarachy, and nihilism.
Watchmen for sure. I re-read the novel a few months ago and loved it just as much as the first time. Just the beginning of the trailer made me grin like a fool, they really kept it close to how it was portrayed in the book. My only concern is that it may go too cartoony…even tho it was a graphic novel first, its not meant to be read as a cartoon. Anyway! Wait and see, I guess.
The Watchmen looks okay but I really don’t like Zack Snyder as a director. The Watchmen seems to be the kind of thing that needs someone with a strong storytelling style and Snyder just doesn’t do that for me.
Star Trek is kind of like Muppet Babies but I’m curious to see how it turned out so that’s why I picked it.
I’ve been a Treckie (I’m not now, nor have I ever been a TreckER)since episode 1 of the original series. But I’m going with Watchmen. Since reading some of what Abrams has to say about his shiny-new-and-better-than-the-rest-of-Star-Trek-which-is-a-joke, I’ve been very put off.
If I support the novel I may not see the movie. Allen Moore the creator does not support Watchmen the movie. Hollywood is so off.

Alan Moore hasn’t ‘supported’ a Hollywood adaption of his work since LoEG. Dave Gibbons on the other hand, was involved in a large way with this adaptation and has said on many occasions that he likes what has been done with Watchmen.
This movie should raise chaos against the system and question EVERYTHING.
