I’m not concerned about the “different” ending of Watchmen. In the graphic novel, I believe Moore and Gibbons made Osterman/Dr. Manhattan believable but not the squid. It was corny somehow in a way I can’t quite describe. It was not the point or the crux of the story. The movie COULD still be great without it. Just hoping they don’t trim it any more and Snyder holds out for his current 2 hr 40 minute length (still probably 90 mins-2hrs too short).
I think what it comes down to is that Snyder runs a bigger risk of failure because the goal is so high, it’s a treasure respected story and no one’s going to “remake” Watchmen in a few years like they do everything else. JJ Abrams can likely only improve on Star Trek because, whatever its good points are, at least half of Star Trek has been little more than a popular, fun, cartoonlike escapism. Abrams is a master at creating popular, fun, noncartoonlike escapism that you actually need a brain to watch. Odds are WAY against it being bad, odds are a somewhat against Watchmen approaching 75% perfect.
but watchmen looks like its going to be great but with star trek looks like other action movie almost looks like star wars.
As much as I love Star Trek, I’m going with Watchmen.

The preview for Watchmen looks great! So, I would go for this one first.
The Star Trek trailer is Amazing.
The Watchmen trailer is Unimpressive. I think the movie will definitely be great, but this particular trailer is a big Yawn.
I really love the Star Trek trailor but Watchmen’s was nice too. I’m not as familiar with them though so it was easier to decide what I’m more excited to see. I guess I’m a bit biased.
I’d watch Watchmen for my faith in the director alone.
I, for one, think the Star Trek trailer is awesome!!! I have absolutely no idea what Watchmen is, so therefore I choose Star Trek.
I am a huge fan of Star Trek, but only the original series. Although, when I was four I loved Voyager!
I’m worried about the recasting…
Only Leonard Nimoy can truly be Spock.
Does anyone else think so?
The answer to the letter scramble in a comment previous to mine is Chris Doohan, obviously.
Did you know that Leonard Nimoy went through 105 pairs of fake pointed ears during the original series?
Dif-tor heh smusma.
That means “Live long and prosper” in Vulcan. ]:-I
I’m picking Watchmen. I really like JJ Abrams, but c’mon, hasn’t Star Trek already had it’s day? I’m afraid that it’s going to be like Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars. It was nice to have something new, but ultimately a complete travesty.
