Hard to believe, but the divinely deadpan Paul Rudd has never hosted Saturday Night Live. He’s finally getting his shot on Nov. 15, so when I interviewed him recently for his hit comedy Role Models, I ran an idea by him: With new mom Amy Poehler now gone from SNL, I think he should cohost "Weekend Update" with Seth Meyers this Saturday! It makes sense: He and Meyers are pals, and he did star in a movie called Anchorman, after all. Check out Paul’s priceless response to my pitch at the end of this clip. Paul Rudd could have taken Amy Poehler’s part in Baby Mama and I’m sure I would have found him convincing and brilliant.

Paul Rudd is so ridiculously attractive. And really, really funny. Long live Paul Rudd. When Tina Fey did Weekend Update, it was the only sketch she appeared on camera in for SNL. So maybe Paul Rudd should host it. Yes, I think that’s a wonderful idea. Because he’s so attractive. Yep.
Did anyone else see Rudd do his incredibly dorky dance on The Daily Show? That was a good moment for me.

Love Paul Rudd… As for a new co-anchor for Update, I would have to suggest Fred Armisen. I would suggest Kristen Wiig since she is HILARIOUS. But since Casey WIlson is really unfunny, they need all the funny chicks they can get for sketches. To me, SNL was never better than when it had it’s three leading ladies, Poehler, Wiig and Maya Rudolph. Bring them all back!!!
