“There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people: religion, politics, and the Great Pumpkin.” —Linus van Pelt (Christopher Shea), It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (Relive the uber-cuteness at the 5:35 mark of the clip that’s embedded after the jump.)

Classic! I watched this on Tuesday night like I’ve never seen it before. I’m 30 years old and the Great Pumpkin is the highlight of the Halloween season for me.
I’ve been watching this every day for the last few weeks as my 2-year-old is totally enamored with Snoopy! It warms my heart. Here’s another great quote from Great Pumpkin: “You’ve heard about the fury of a woman scorned? Well that’s nothing compared to the fury of a woman who’s been cheated out of tricks or treats.” And this one:
Lucy: “Alright, everyone, let’s bob for apples.”
Kid: “Yeah, Lucy, you ought to be good at that. You have the perfect mouth for it!”
Oh, yeah….my son, Nicholas, who has ASD, loves Peanuts. He is particularly fond of Linus and Snoopy. He knows the dialogue, he dances around when it’s on, he just eats it up. When he got into his Halloween costume (sort of a punk-rock scarecrow type of deal), when I spiked up his hair so that it stuck up in a gazillion directions, his reaction was, “I look like Pig-Pen.”
I have a son with ASD too and he also loves Peanuts at the ripe old age of 10 1/2. How old is your son?
“YOU OWE ME RESTITUTION!” – Sally to Linus
So true, Linus. So true.
These Peanuts cartoons never get old. Love them!
I like it at the end when Lucy puts Linus to bed. She’s got a whole lot of attitude, but a good heart.
truer words have never been spoken linus.
