He has Eccleston's broodiness, Tennant's quirkiness and his own sense of self. He is menacing without necessarily being scary. He is also one of the best actor of his generation. My other choice would be Mark Strong. I know he is more "vilain material" but those of you who have seen him in tv shows such as "Walk away and I stumble" or in Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla knows that he could make a great ambiguous and humane doctor.
