Remember when MTV actually aired music videos? Way back in the late ’50s, if I recall correctly. Well, those clips seem to have found a new home on mtvmusic.com. I’m not sure if every video that MTV ever aired can be found here — but it sure seems that way. Okay, I couldn’t find The Art of Noise’s hilariously disturbing "Close (to the Edit)" — and I was unable to get the Replacement’s minimalist masterpiece "Bastards of Young" to properly load. But they did have Aphex Twin’s "Come to Daddy" (below) — a twistedly brilliant clip perhaps best viewed on your home computer, with the lights out and your speakers rattling at maximum volume. Update: It seems that this clip has problems loading, too. Let’s try Radiohead’s "Just." Okay, so I’ve shared some of my favorite videos — now let’s hear some of yours (and add links if you can find them on this site).

You know what’d be REALLY crazy?
If they showed some of these videos on TV instead of exclusively on the Internet. Wrap your mind around that one!
thank you thank you thank you
I just visited and got to watch the wonderful Justified and Ancient
by KLF featuring Tammy Wynette!
Ceballos, you have blown my mind. What a concept. Until then, there’s this video of one of my favorite songs ever:

Thank you – my day is officially GONE.
Favorite relatively recent video – Better than Ezra, “Juicy”: http://www.mtvmusic.com/video/?id=97310
Favorite old-school video -
Dead Milkmen, “Punk Rock Girl”:

Ceballos – focusing on music on ‘Music Television’? You’re stretching…
They have the old pop-up videos from VH1 on here! Here’s Jewel “Who Will Save Your Soul”

The quality sucks. It’s actually worse than youtube, especially since youtube supports the higher resolutions now. Seriously, with services like vimeo, what do they expect to happen?
Well, they only have one Billy Idol vid (not the one I wanted) and not nearly enough Chemical Brothers, but their selection of Bjork clips is quite plentiful. Here’s my favorite, which was probably only ever aired one time.

The array of random ’80s and early ’90s clips is impressive, including one of my all-time favorite videos (and karaoke tunes), “Freedom” by George Michael.

However, I must express my disappointment at the lack of Beastie Boys videos. No “Sabotage” (Best. Video. Ever.)? No “Hey Ladies”? No “So What’cha Want”? Pathetic.
@ Ceballos I still laugh that tv shows are suffering in the ratings and the only thing that get people to come back to television is apprently Music Videos
So effectively you’re telling me that this site is called “Music Television Music”? Wow, groundbreaking. A real step up from that YouTube nonsense.
Ok, enough of the sarcasm. I think this site is a sad reflection on MTV and the way its programming represents pretty much all that is wrong with the world.
Some memorable videos directed by Godley and Creme:

I will always remember the Barnes and Barnes FishHeads video with Bill Paxton that my older sister forced me to watch. Still one crazy and disturbing video.
If this website gets popular, it will gradually be replaced with nothing but clips from The Real World, Making The Band & The Hills.
