My jaw dropped — for the full 1 min. and 50 sec.

    Best line of the night:
    Michael: What was on that?
    Dwight: Butter, babies are slippery.

I thought the whole thing was hilarious. The birthing scene, Dwight, all of it.
Best line for me: “I want my golden shower. Where’s my golden shower, Phyllis?”I didn’t know they were allowed to say such things on network television.

    Yeaaaaaaaah, that was… somethin’.

Please NBC, start moving the show towards it’s proper closing before they take it so far out that there is no possible way that people will believe the original premise of a documentary crew filming the day-to-day life of office staff. Oh wait, it’s too late. They have officially JUMPED THE WATERMELON, I mean Shark.

Dwight birthing the watermelon was hysterical. I was dying laughing. And then Michael eating the watermelon after the birth was the icing on the cake. Hi-larious.

I laughed so hard at that opening scene. Dwight is the best!

Actually, I thought that was the only over-the-top, too-broad humored part of the episode. Was it funny? Yes. Did it detract from an episode that was subtle and heartbreaking and a showcase of the kind of sensitive, on-the-line-but-not-over-it humor that “The Office” does so well? Oh goodness, yes. The watermelon labor was funny, but it had no place in this show. It should have been cut.

You thought “golden shower” was bad? I couldn’t believe the were allowed to keep saying the name Astird (or as it is pronounced “Ass turd”).

  • Gina

Eh, it might have been over-the-top but atleast it was in character unlike other shows that are willing to betray a character and allow them to do something they shouldn’t be doing. Gotta give the show credit for that. Also, yes, the show is suppose to be somewhat believable, but in the end…it’s a tv show and you have to suspend belief regardless. I’m certainly willing to since it’s one of the best shows on tv. Not to mention I’ve always found this version over-the-top in comparison to the UK original, ever since the first season.

    Funny? Absolutely!
Highlight of an already awesome episode? Definitely!
    Creepy? You betcha!
Cause Michael was eating his baby…

I think I was more horrified by that scene than I was by the whole birthing video I had to watch in high school health class! And that had blood!!

  • monica

no but seriously, the butter was a nice touch.

  • monica

LMAO Jessica S, that was HILARIOUS!

  • Raven_Moon

    Awesome.

  • Mandy

Wow, I can’t believe this scene was actually about twice the length of the proposal scene!
