Happy 60th birthday, George Wendt! You probably best know him as the guy who played Macaulay Culkin’s father in the Michael Jackson video "Black or White." Or as the uncle of Saturday Night Live cast member and sometime 30 Rock guest star Jason Sudeikis. But did you know was a regular a long-running NBC series called Cheers? It’s true! He played an accountant named Norm, a regular at a Boston watering hole where everyone knew his name. Here’s a clip (below) that shows some of his more memorable entrances:

You were kidding right? That we should know him best from Michael Jackson’s video? And that did we know he was on Cheers? Of course he is best known for Cheers!!!
When did George Wendt’s defining moment become the Black and White video? Doesn’t everyone automatically think of him as Norm? Happy Birthday Norm!
Like the others, I am assuming the post is sarcastic, but it’s not 100% clear. That being said…
“Nooooorm!!”
Whoo…the sarcasm was totally lost on you guys, huh? I myself was always a fan of when he was a Superfan on SNL…da bears!
please i’m only 20, but even i know that Wendt is best known as “Noooooorrm!!!!!” from Cheers! that was a great show.
Good vid, but they missed one of the better ones: “It’s a dog eat dog world Sammy, and I am wearing Milk Bone underwear!”. How could they have skipped it?
The dog-eat-dog one is my absolute favorite
