I haven't watched the show, but as someone who grew up in the '70s, I'll have to check it out. I'm a stickler for accuracy, and if the movie Grease was referenced, and the show takes place in 1973, the writer was off by a couple of years, at least!

Didn't recognize Lee Tergeson without the mustache. Really liked him in that Gary Cole TNT show "Wanted." They may have to move this show though. Second ep ratings were down. 11th Hour ratings up.

This is a very good show. I was 14 in 1973 so everything in it is familar to me. It's hard to believe how far we have really come from that time period. Not just tech wise but common sense wise as well. Hope this show lasts and I think it just might go for a few years.

Sooo tired of the BBC/US comparisons. Who cares? The 268 people who have BBC America? You guys are sooo in the know. Really. You sound like college kids sitting around in your dorm room talking about how cool Nirvana was before they "sold out". Whatever.
Now, about this show... it's as entertaining as anything I've seen on network television in a LONG time. A cute guy, some great acting, great music, a story with some heart.
What more could you ask for?
Wait. I know... Philip Glenister. (lol)

Antonio, you can't judge or categorize a British show by American standards, especially when the show in question doesn't fit. They could have dragged the original on, if they'd wanted to, but they chose to end it before they'd beat all the life out of it. Thus, they drew it to a close at the end of the second year (second year sort of indicates it's not a miniseries, right there).
American shows tend to run until there's nothing left and they're cancelled without a true conclusion (or there is one but nobody's watching anymore). You may prefer the latter, but the former makes better television. In any case, Life on Mars was not a miniseries, no matter how much you may want to call it one.

For American standards it was a miniseries: a short running, self-enclosed story. A show by definition should be open-ended. You have to agree the artistic demands are very different.
