The truth is, this book will sell because we want to see how the hottest chick in our male adolescent fantasies was turned into a porn star.
I agree with you, Tina; what was the point of this book? We’re heard all of this stuff about the Bradys and Maureen McCormick before. Some celeb autobios can be great reading, but this one sounds like a miss.
I thought Boy George’s autobiography was really good.
Thank you, Tina. It does sound tedious. I agree w/earlier posters that Tori Spelling’s book was good and Valerie Bertinelli’s book was a surprise, too. If you’re like me and spent hours in front of the classic movies as a kid you might like these celeb bios, archive edition:
The Moon’s a Balloon by David Niven
Hell of a Life by Maureen Stapleton
Tracy and Hepburn an Intimate Memoir by Garson Kanin
I love Lauren Bacall’s autobiography. I cried so many times reading it. Has a great love story and old Hollywood glamour, what more could a girl ask for? Also includes some gorg pics of her and her famous friends!
I second “If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor” by Bruce Campbell. Great Fun, well written.
I also really enjoyed “Lucky Man” by Michael J. Fox. I found it honest and inspirational.
Courtney Love’s story (NOT love story) was fantastic! It was a fun read!
No lifegaurd on Duty by Janice Dickinson is hilarious, dishy, and super juicy. I also liked StoriTelling like some others here.I thought Jane Fonda’s book was interesting if not a little too long. And Ava:My Story by Ava Gardner is excellent.
My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One Night Stands by Chelsea Handler. Very funny.
A Paper Life by Tatum O’Neal was excellent.
“Yes I Can” by Sammy Davis, Jr is the most moving biography I’ve read so far. Years on the road performing in places he couldn’t use the bathrooms or stay in the rooms, service in WWII, the injury, illegal 8 year marriage to May Britt. No matter the religious or political backlash he managed to live with grace and humility. Celebrities don’t know what sacrifice is now-a-days.
WHORESLUTBITCH!
I think the best celebrity book was “My way Of Life” by Joan Crawford. Very little info about her life but great tips on how to have your maid pack your suitcase!
The best by far is HARPO SPEAKS! by the wonderful Harpo Marx. It’s touching, eloquent, and loving. Only a man like Harpo, who never spoke in public, could come up with a book like this.
Another celebrity foray into self-absorption that I won’t be purchasing.
