I guess it’s a good thing I know more about vampires than technology, because it took the Army Corps of Engineers a tech-savvy friend and much nail-biting to figure out how to install the $%#& Twilight widget so I could watch the damn thing. By the time I got it to work, the trailer was already on YouTube. But! Check it out, and my initial impression, below:
1. The kiss between Bella and Edward — not a bad one. Almost hot, actually. Based on the film’s poster, I was afraid they’d have zilch chemistry. Happy to see I might be wrong.
2. Is it just me, or does Robert Pattinson’s American accent make him sound a little like a young Marlon Brando? Bella: "You’ve gotta give me some answers!" Edward: "I’d radda hear your tearies." And a little further in, "My famlee, we’re different from udders of our kind." A Godfadder in the making.
3. I wish I could’ve seen more than a split second of Alice and the rest of the Cullens, and met Jacob too.
4. That’s a cool trick Edward pulls with the apple. In fact, all the action seems pretty cool, though the dialogue could definitely use a little, uh, juice.

It rocked!!! But I agree that Jacob should have been in there some and the rest of the Cullen clan. LOVED the kiss – Rob’s eyes are so intense. I know he’d dazzle me!

HOLY COW! It was freaking amazing! I do wish there would have been a little more of the Cullens…but I guess they have to leave something for the movie! I can’t wait for November 21!!!
I like the trailer. I think Robert and Kristen have more chemistry than I anticipated. I like Robert’s voice. There are worse people to compare his voice to than a legend like Brando.
That was an amazing video, I love it, I can’t wait for the movie, I read all the books in less than 3 days, haha. im sooo excited! That kiss was great! And yeah the cullens could have been added more, but other than that, really good :] <3 also kristen and robert look great on film together!

Rob’s amazing in the footage. I dont hear Brando but the accent is VERY sexy. It draws you in. Its like honey. He has so much charisma. I love the kiss-its perfect.Erotic.
Glad the focus was on Rob and Kristn. Jacob bores me. Pattinson was mesmersing. He’s going to be a Hollywood superstar. You only have eyes for him when he is on screen. Loved the trailer, perfect mix of action and romance. Rob’s kiss was so sexy. Lucky Kristen
Brando? I think your ears need a good clean. Rob’s voice was lke velvet. It oozes sex. Very good trailer and the music was sexy too.
Pattinson is the next Johnny Depp for sure. Quirky, sexy, dangerous and so vrsatile. I cant wait to see his Salvador Dali in Little Ashes. Early reviews say he is phenominal.
I had to laugh as the LA review of the trailer says they think Rob sounds British so quite a difference in opinion. I think he sounds wonderful. Just the right mix of old american. He’s meant to be 107 so his voice isnt meant to sound too modern. I thought the trailer did a great job of attracting people who havent read the books. 10 out of 10 from me. The kiss was sensational. Lucky Kristen. I hope Rob gets a whole new franchise to himself next year something like Clash of the Titans. I can see him as Perseus. I do have a big desire to see him as F Scott Fitzgerald in a new film thats being developed with with Keira Knightly
Rob sounds other worldly – mega sexy. The accent is perfect. I cant think of any other actor with such charisma. I sit open mouthed watching him as he excites me so much. I thought the trailer was spot on. It needs a wide audience and I think it did a great job of trying to appeal to the masses. Kristen doesnt convince m but Rob’s screen presence more than makes up for that. I so want to se Rob as Dali in Little Ashes. The fan reviews after seeing the world premiere are so amazing I am green with envy.
Not Brando but I can hear a twinge of a Godfather accent. I agree with you about wanting to see more of the Cullens and also Jacob.
The thing that really bothers me is that Robert -although he portrays Edward well with his Byronic Hero complex -makes Edwards internal struggle too obvious. From Twilight and drafts of Midnight Sun it seems that he doesn’t want Bella to know he is suffering (the internal conflict). Rob’s showin too much of “ah I’m in pain with this terrible emotional war I wage inside of me” look.
I’m nitpicking here lol. I find it strange that although they said they would try to be faithful to the book.. why is James’ hair long? But nevertheless, Cam Gigandet, from the trailer seems to pull of James well. His line of “But not stronger” with that strain in his voice makes content with the trailer.
I like Kristen as Bella. But this trailer doesn’t give me any satisfaction on her behalf. She’s an accomplished actress but Rob’s intensity seems to overshadow her too much.
I cannot wait until the November 21st showing. What scenes that have given us just make me want more and more. I agree that the kissing scene was absolutely incredible and made me remember it in the book. Come on November
After seeing the previously released trailer, I became a little nervous. Everytime someone spoke it seemed so stilted.
Luckily, Summit redeemed themselves with this little ditty. I’ve only just finished the first book and am about to begin New Moon and I’m already completely obsesed:)
This trailer definitely amped up the excitement level for the movie! I’m hoping Rob will be a great Edward (and the trailer is promising) because that is the greatest literary character of the 21 century!

I have to agree its hilarious that you think he sounds like Brando while the LA times said he had a hint of a british accent. Neither of you are right. There is no british twang in there but a hint of early 20th century guy which is as it should be.
Pattinson does overshadow Kristen 100% but thats because he’s a wonderful actor and she is so over rated. I’m also glad we never saw the kid Jacob. He;s not in Twilight much anyway YAY. We have to suffer him in New moon so thats quite enough. I loved Rob climbing the trees and throwing trees. The effects looked good. Its a perfectly pitched trailer. Well done Hardwick.
I loved Rob’s beautiful and sensuous accent. I was hanging on his every word. Its impossible for him to be hotter. I’m actually more excited to se him as Salvador Dali in Little Ashes but Twilight will do until I can enjoy that film. I dont think most people will have eyes for anyone but Rob in this film as he has such amazing screen presence.The trailer does a great job of selling the film to people who havent read the books. I’m very impressed. I hope Rob can move on from these films soon and work on more quality films like Little Ashes. he’s too good an actor to be trapped in teen romance films. Di Caprio did well after Titanic and I am sure Rob will do the same. It will be nice to have a Brit at the very top in Hollywood. I’m fed up of the aged stars like Pitt and Clooney. I want to see some fresh blood. Rob reminds me of a mix of James Dean and Johnny Depp.

You’d think they’d let the trailer stay up on you tube longer. Will reserve judgement till I see the whole movie but from what I’ve seen of the movie so far, a major commercial hit (if not a critical one – and only because critics tend to have an almost pathological hatred of anything with a ready built audience) time will tell.
The trailer was excellent and the music unusual but I liked it. Pattinson is just amazing, I could watch him all day. His accent in this is laconic and enticing. I find it supremely exciting and erotic. The special effects are much better than I was expecting – the tree scenes work really well. Who wants to see the supporting actors when you have Rob and Kristen on screen -not me. Hardwicke did right. People have been swooning over the kiss and I can see why. So now we know Rob can kiss brilliantly too. I suspected as much. You lucky lucky girl Kristen.
Good to see I’m not the only on really excited to see Rob as Dali in Little Ashes. The water scene alone sounds very special. Rob will definitely become a superstar because he has the perfect mix of talent, versatility, charisma, danger, charm,humour and sex appeal. Phew a heady mix.
I remember when I used to call Christian Bale “Chris”. It was the mid-1990s. He had just suffered through “Newsies” and “Swing Kids” and then got a plum part in “Little Women”. We besieged EW to give him coverage. Now, of course, he’s Batman and I wish him the best of luck, but I’m an adult now and don’t call people I don’t know by false diminutives. (AFAIK, Bale *insisted* on never being called “Chris”.)
As for this movie, I’ll watch it the way I watch all movies. On DVD or Internet.
Ultimately breathtaking.
Rob can suck my blood any day, not to mention kiss me, take me climbing trees, save me from wild vans, and basically, anything to take my breath away. 42 days. sigh.
Rob’s voice was sexy as hell. I cant remember being so turned on by a voice. I thought the trailer worked very well indeed. A good blend of tension and action. The initial music had a very exotic feel to it. I loved that. They could have left out the one tiny shot of the prom (kept that for later) but on the whole I was enthralled. I am a huge fan of Pattinson now. He’s got me for good like it or not.
Th overload of hotness from robert is too much for me to handle. he needs a health warning.
The new trailer finally does the movie justice. Even though there will be a few additions to the story the story has been and will always be about Bella and Edwards unconventional love story. With the built in fan base this movie should be a great commercial success for Summit Entertaiment…BRAVO!
There aren’t words for how much I loved the trailer. I was already seeing the film, as Robert is fantastic and I would see any film he’s in, but it surprised how much more I wanted to see Twilight, based solely on that trailer.
And eve more surprisingly…my finace says now HE wants to see Twilight…and THAT is based solely on this new trailer as well.
I think they’ve hot the ball outta the park with the trailer…with this film. Catherine and Summit should be commended!!
