So I’m catching up on my Dirty Sexy Money last night, and I almost did a spit-take when Kenny G (pictured) cameo’d to play a Read the full post.

I tell my husband all the time that I want “The Long Road” sung by Eddie Vedder (I don’t know if it’s also sung by someone else or not) sometime during my funeral. As a few other people have mentioned “In My Life” would be played, too.
I played “Keep Me in Your Heart” by Warren Zevon at my wedding as a tribute to my and my husband’s deceased grandparents. But I would probably like that played at my funeral too. My other choices are “For Good” from “Wicked” and “Talkin’ to My Angel” by Melissa Ethridge.
I hate you so much right now by Kelis
“If I Ever Leave This World Alive” by Flogging Molly. Every time I listen to this song, I get a chill thinking of the sentiment of this song being played at a funeral.
My mom says she’ll play Barbra Streisand’s “We’re Not Making Love Anymore” at my dad’s funeral.
“Together Again” by Janet Jackson. I think the sentiment of this upbeat song is sweet, and I’d hate the mood to be all grim and dour at my funeral. Everyone should be happy that I’ve gone to a better place.
.
the Cheers theme song…
Have said for years that I must have “Maggie May” by Rod Stewart and “I Bid You Goodnight” by Aaron Neville played at my funeral.
Another Duranie here. I have said for years it would be a bunch of Duran songs. I know it would make people smile, since they know how much I loved them forever.
I’ve always said that I wanted “Good Riddance” by Green Day … My husband wants “Ripple” by Grateful Dead.
Ooh, “Someone Great” is a good choice. Don’t know why, but I want “Everything in Its Right Place” by Radiohead played at mine. I’ve seen them use it to both open and close concerts, and somehow it just seems a fitting coda for someone’s life. *shrug* Except the “there are two colours in my head” line… but oh well.
It’s cheesy but i have told my husband that i want “Seasons of Love” from Rent to be sung/played at my funeral. It’s a beautiful song and reminds people to remember their loved ones life – not a corpse. Celebrate life.
I had American Pie played TWICE at my wedding and I have told everyone that knows me that I want that song played TWICE at my funeral since that has always been my theme song
“Why Me” by Kris Kristofferson. Then, for the finale, “It’s A Long Way To The Top” by AC/DC–with real bagpipers if possible. Those 2 songs would showcase the different sides of my personality. And following a tearjerker near-hymn with AC/DC would hopefully have everyone laughing through tears.
My mom has always said that she wants I Hope you Dance played at hers. I think I want Somewhere Over the Rainbow, but the version the Jason Castro sang on American Idol. I liked B Ro’s picks of Go Cubs Go and the Superbowl Shuffle
