Angelina Jolie's very public private moment

Is there something inherently hypocritical about the cover story in the new issue of W, which depicts a breast-feeding Angelina Jolie on its cover? The Read the full post.

you know – I have no issue with the photo itself. It’s tasteful and artfully done, however I do have an issue with them publizing every aspect of their life. I’m sure as in the past they will donate funds to Zahara’s school or some other cause – but really? Really? As the cover states, keep it private.

How is a picture of breastfeeding controversial? I don’t get it. But I do get Brad and Angelina selling the photos and giving the money to charity. The public hunger for pictures of celebrity “private moments” is like an on coming train. You can’t stop it. Good for them for gaining some control over the situation and being able to take it and give out good because of it (giving money to charity). But not total control of course: these photos still aren’t going to stop some sleeze from making money off of Brad, Angelina and co.

When will we get past the fact the breastfeeding is not sexual..it is nutrition and the best nutrition an infant can receive! It is using a breast for the purpose it was created!

One thing I can say about these two: They know to make a buck….and they make money the old fashioned way: they earn it.
$Millions for cover photo shoots; $Mill for movies;$Mill for endorsements; $Mill for designing houses….did I miss anything?

I’m just tired of Brangelina (and the rest of the world) acting like she’s the 1st female/actress to give birth and be a mother. GET OVER YOURSELVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chief, you beat me to it. :)

Breast feeding is fine, pictures of it are fine, but I am really getting tired of reading *anything* about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. (And I actually like Brad Pitt as an actor!) It is getting to the point where I don’t want to see or hear anything about them, and it is doubtful I will go see the new Angelina movie (even though it has the guy from Burn Notice in it.) I never used to understand when actors worried about over exposure in the media (isn’t that their job?), but these two make me understand it. They need to just go away, for a very long time, and enjoy their family time in private. I do not want to hear about them or see pictures of them.

For me, Angelina is not an actress anymore, is a character herself.

I am so proud of her! As a breastfeeding Mom I think it’s sick how some ignorant people think breasts are only for sex. If it’s ok to show them on the red carpet then it’s ok to show them feeding a baby. Yea Angelina for doing something normal, beautiful and sweet. Being a breastfeeding Mom is great for the baby and something to be proud of!

I think this photo is tastefully done…we’re not seeing full on book and suckage…And we all know any money made from these intimate shots are going to worth while charaties…how many other celebritites can say they do that when they pimp themselves or their children (I’m talking to you Lynne Spears) to the highest bidder?!

  • Not a Brangelina fan

I’m not a fan of Angelina Jolie AT ALL – and even I have to admit she looks beautiful in this photo. Some people nitpick the stupidest things.

The picture is lovely and tasteful. Every mother should stand and applaud. I am not a big fan of the movies that she or Brad do, but I am a fan of their charitable work. People should stop comparing her to her younger self or Jennifer Aniston. People blame Brad and Angelina for the demise of his marriage to Jennifer, but look who has a stable home life and who flits from one guy to another. “Nuff said

  • Angie

I agree the cover is tastefully done. Breastfeeding is a natural beautiful thing. I am not a fan of either Brad or Angelina but I do applaud them for giving the money to charity.

I, for one, am so sick hearing about these two. The picture is fine but why do we feel the need to see her breastfeeding? Why must we know every detail of their lives? Why do we care what they think about anything? The Emperor has no clothes people, wake up!

It’s a beautiful bonding moment between mother and child, but I don’t understand their need to put it on a magazine cover. Not because of the subject matter as it’s a natural thing, but because Brad & Angelina have sold every single moment of their lives. Their kids are forced by their parents into the spotlight as instant celebrities, and way too much information is shared about their private family – do they ever decline to answer a question by saying their family is private? Never. I understand controlling a situation (that they’ve created) and it’s great that charities occasionally benefit, but these two could easily do ads for a couple of products, make millions, and donate THAT, rather than using their own children. And there’s no doubt in my mind it’s for PR, since their big intimate photo spreads always seem to occur just as one of them is releasing a movie, and the idea of using your family and children to sell yourself or a project is just wrong.
