"New movie’s showin’, so you’re goin’/Could care less about the five you’re blowin’/Theater gets dark just to start the show/ Then you spot a fine woman sittin’ in your row/She’s dressed in yellow, she says ‘Hello!/ Come sit next to me you fine fellow’/You run over there without a second to lose/And what comes next? Hey, bust a move." –Young M.C., "Bust a Move"

I always wanted to wear that yellow bow… but I was a 15 year old closeted gay boy back then. Don’t think it was terribly practical, eh?
Good call Slezak!
This song was the bomb when it came out I know all the words. I loved this song and there were others inthat same year that were such great songs!
I see your Young M.C. and raise you one Sugarhill Gang: “Have you ever went over a friends house to eat
and the food just ain’t no good?
I mean the macaroni’s soggy the peas are mushed and the chicken tastes like wood. So you try to play it off like you think you can by sayin’ that you’re full, and then your friend says momma he’s just being polite, he aint finished uh uh that’s bull.”
Slezak – You just made my day! I finished listening Bust A Move (along with a few other suspect music selections)on my iPod before walking into work. Between this and last week’s post indicating your fondness for K7’s Come Baby Come I am really begining to think that we should be friends!!
I still wonder about this line — “Your best friend Harry/has a brother Larry/in five days from now he’s gonna marry/he’s hoping you can make it there if you can/’cuz in the ceremony you’ll be the best man.”
Wait. You’re going to be best man at your best friend’s BROTHER’S wedding?!! Why wouldn’t he just ask his brother? Isn’t that rude? And who asks just 5 days out to be your best man?
Young MC – a curious nation awaits a response…preferably with a catchy hook.
You say neato/take your libido/arrive to the church in your new tuxedo- (Back in the day I had no idea what “libido” was)
My husband and I will randomly start quoting Bust a Move. Back in the day I knew every word to the song. Still love this song!
Pardon me, miss, but I cannot see the movie over your obnoxiously large yellow bow…
“Then your heart starts pumpin’ and you think about lyin’, saying you already ate/And your friend says ‘Come on, man, there’s plenty of food’ and he piles some more on your plate”.
Would Young MC be interested in writing music for a screenplay?
After 30 years in Real Estate and now a company that sues banks for conducting illegal foreclosures, a screenplay about the mortgage game is ready for final touches. Young MC can once again “Bust a Move”. This move and movie will change lives…
Someone please pass along the invitation to Young MC.
Shalom.
