Soooo good to have it back! More Matt and Julie please!
I’m grateful for any deal that keeps this fantastic show on the air a while longer. I have to admit I was quite frustrated not to see hide nor hair of Jason Street last night, after the major cliffhanger between him and Erin last season over the fate of her pregnancy.
Just hope you re-run these in January when the show hits NBC
Thank you so much direct tv for bringing back fnl! I loved last nights episode! Kyle Chandler is awesome and this is the best show on tv in my opinion.
This show is head and shoulders above anything else on tv. I loved it without commercials–it really feels more like a feature film in that it sucks you into the feeling in that hot Texas town. Fingers crossed that it continues on.
Love, love, love this show! Even though some of the characters should have graduated I don’t mind because I feel like the first two seasons were shortened. I am also a fan who signed up for Directv so I could watch this show. I have to say that we are loving Directv compared to DishNetwork, so it is a win-win!
P.S. Loved Riggins shout out to Canada with the Jasper Park shirt!
Thank God FNL is back on the air! Thank you DirecTV for saving our show!
I love this show so much, I watched it twice last night and I don’t know who I “heart” more: Coach Taylor or Tim Riggins.
Thanks Direct Tv, this first episode was great, i love this show!!!!!! and tim!!!!!
So glad the show’s still on, but like others, I’m baffled by the age changing that has occurred. Tim, Tyra, Jason, and Lyla were all seniors during the 1st season; Matt and Julie were sophomores. Now Tim, Tyra and Lyla are still in hs and in the same class with Matt and Julie. It just seems like the writers could have handled this better. It might have been good to have stretched out each school year over multiple tv seasons. So what happens next year, if we’re lucky enough to see the show continue? A whole new cast?
I’m glad to hear someone else acknowledge the fact that characters who were supposed to be seniors in season 1 are still here 3 years later. I guess they figured new network, new beginnings. But for those of us who were here from day one, it is kind of a slap in the face. I mean, come on…we’re supposed to now believe that Tim, Lyla, and Tyra were all 15-year-old sophomores when this series started?
We’ve always loved the sports coverage we get with DirecTV and now we get the best of them all, Friday Night Lights! I hope like CindyC suggested that deals like this can save struggling but beloved shows. FNL fans who can should think about subscribing so DirecTV makes money off of this so they keep saving shows! I’ll be watching the episodes again on NBC just to help boost the ratings. The ep was great, but I need more Matt Saracen & Jason Street! Looks like we’ll get more of Matt next week, but I believe we were promised a wrap-up to the Jason Street story line–when are we going to see that?
yay yay yay yay yay! I was so excited for this – I already loved DirecTV enough as it was & now they’re saving FNL! I’m so glad it seems as though this season is off to a great start. hopefully now that they have a bit more security they’ll stay away from those convoluted storylines (Tyra’s rapist’s killing, Jason’s baby) and even though I don’t like how some of the changes were a bit forced (Tim & Lyla, Smash’s injury, Tami’s promotion), I understand that that’s due to a shortened second season. overall it was pretty amazing though – the acting’s still top-notch & I’m happy to be back in Dillon again haha. PS: I agree with those who said that there’s no way Tim, Lyla, & Tyra can be seniors for the third year, but oh well. creative license I guess….
So glad this show is back…and even more glad the premier did not disappoint.
After the somewhat mediocre second season, it’s nice to see the show back on track.
for those who are complaining about the age thing, who cares! This show is awesome and I love those characters! I wish they could be seniors for a couple more years! This ep was better than all eps of season 2-can’t wait for the rest!
friday night lights is amazing.tim and lyla!
