We can't stop playing this hot-ass Army of Lovers song

Two hours ago, Slezak randomly IMed me the link to the below video, and it turns out that Army of Lovers’ not particularly successful 1990 single "My Army of Lovers" is exactly what I feel like keeping on in the background for the rest of Friday. Won’t you join me? If you’re really busy (yeah right), just jump to the faux-pensive faux-playing of a neon-hued plastic keyboard at 0:33. — it’ll save time as you’re hunting around for a horrifying image to haunt you all weekend.

Says Slezak: "I will deny to the world that I downloaded this CD today. (I used to own it on tape.)"

Good luck with that now, sir!

This band meant this as a joke right?

    oh.
    em.
    gee.
    Stranger than the faux-pensive keyboard:
    - Faux-gasmic “drumming” by androgyno-sideburns.
    - The revealing of her chastity emblazonment!

Oh no… they were absolutely serious (at the time). I lived in Germany from 90 to 92 and this band was at the top of the top 10 videos on MTV there every single week. I don’t remember this one as a hit, but Crucified was a #1 hit on MTV for them and I also owned their albums. Wow, it IS particularly terrible now, isn’t it?

I don’t remember this one, but I liked “Crucified” when it came out. In fact, I just watched it the other night on youtube.

That’s the song, Crucified. I loved it when it came out. The early 90s were great for Europop!

The name “Army of Lovers” comes from the ancient Greeks, who insisted that the men in its armies be couples, with the idea that they would fight harder if the one they loved was fighting beside them. Perhaps the U.S. would do better in Iraq if it replaced “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” with man-on-man commando couples. And posted hot videos to xTube…… er… what were we talking about again?

Oh. My. God.. Annie, it was only two days ago when this song just randomly popped into my head while i was at work..
sometimes you and my darling Slezak scare me.. in a good way, of course!

Why do I keep waiting for Julie Brown to show up in this video? Her Vogue parody lyrics would fit perfectly in this song.
    “Vanna White, Ed McMahon
    Nicolette Sher-i-dan
    Mary Hart, Chuck Woolery
Are as vague as they can be”
