'The Colbert Report' Christmas special: YES

Stephen Colbert’s hour-long ***musical!*** special, A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All, will air November 23rd, almost a month before the holiday. So we don’t think it’s too out of line to start pregaming for its impending Yuletidiness today. Witness a pre-WristStrong Colbert deliver a heartwarming fireside Christmas story on The Daily Show in ye olde 2000. The only things missing are that self-portrait painting and better production values!

John Legend, Elvis Costello,Toby Keith, and Feist will perform in the special, but we’re somehow most psyched about Colbert’s duets with Jon Stewart ("Hannukah") and Willie Nelson ("Little Dealer Boy.") Also, I’d like Doritos to create a chip just for the occasion. Thanks!

Considering the Report will no doubt take the entire month of December and half of January off, November 23 is probably last day they’ll be working before the holidays.

Can they put this in theaters instead of Four Christmases? (Which I will probably see, but is sure to disappoint.) I love me some Colbert and this just seems to good to be true. Jon Stewart, Christmas, SInging… It’s a tv special trifecta!

Annie you made my day!!!! I’m eagerly anticipating Nov 23rd. And yay for the Report bringing back some of the funniest musical guests they’ve ever had. Remember when Feist gave Stephen her blue sequined jumpsuit from the “1 2 3 4″ video- hilarious.

Why? Why must everyone suck this man’s ass?

Not everyone, Dan, just those of use with a sense of humor.
