I. Love. This. Man.
Me. Too.
Amen Craig!
That was amazing. I only wish he had a bigger audience and more people witnessed that. Especially the part about voting. I’m mid-20s, and when my friends tell me they don’t vote, I seriously want to slap them upside the head. It is a duty and a right, that people, both men and then women, fought to get, and its pure laziness and stupidity when people don’t vote.
Love it. Love it. Love it.
A straight shot right to our pretensions about being part of a democratic society, and a perfect skewering of the media’s preoccupation with the cosmetics of this election. Way to go, Craig–you’re a better American than most of us born there, and that includes me. You’ve inspired me to get more involved.
BRAVO!!! This seriously needs to be played by mainstream media (especially the last part) over and over to get it into the head of all the knuckleheads who think the Presidency is a popularity contest like this was high school!!
Puff Diddily. Hahahaha. This man is brilliant.
EXERCISE YOUR DEMOCRATIC RIGHTS! it’s your duty. God, he’s so wonderful
YOU GO CRAIG!
it’s so true and so scary. Let’s get out there on 11/04/08 and make our country proud!
Craig Ferguson is wonderful. He is the only logical choice to replace David Letterman. I loved everything that he said, esp. the part about Sarah Palin. Go back and listen to her speech at the Rep. convention. Ferguson is right. She thinks she’s running for president, and the press is letting her get away with it.
Wow, what a great monologue. Its noce to see him do something about it (handing out voter registration forms to his audience) and not just complaining. LOVE IT!
I love him touching the camera, like he’s grabbing your shoulder trying to make a point. That should be re-run in prime time right before the first presidential debate.
Great monologue! Great humor!
Making the point that doing our duty as American citizens was an extremely important thing to do.
Oh, how I heart Craig Ferguson.
I just emailed this link to pretty much everyone I know. What a great message he’s putting out there.
I had an 18 year old kid tell me yesterday that he was never going to vote because he didn’t care about this country because it didn’t care about him. that voting was a waste of time. It makes me so angry to hear that. How many people think that way? Obviously, he had never had anyone give him a civics lesson or had seen his family members vote. I wish that Craig would go speak in schools about voting and what it means to him.
What made it a great monologue was that it was the most moderately even and most well thought of speech that all liberals and consertative should agree on
Can we vote for him?
I think I’m now going to have to stay up late to watch this brilliant man. Isn’t it ironic, that someone who newly became an American citizen can so passionately explain why our whole democratic process is important. This rocked!
this is why I get all my political coverage from late night TV.
Thanks, PopWatch, for the Ferguson clips. I never stay up late enough to catch his show, but maybe I’ll start TiVoing it because he’s so great. Everyone go vote on 11/4!
Wow, I’m not even an American and now I feel like I need to go out and vote ! Craig Ferguson makes a better case for the vote than any “political” rock star ever could on a stage between songs.
That was fantastic!
I was prepared to hear another one-sided diatribe from a celebrity. (Waaaay too common these days.)
Craig Ferguson hit the nail on the head, in a funny and unbiased way. His comments applied to both major parties, who each seem to care more about getting elected (i.e. “winning”) than actually solving problems.
Thank you for posting this! And thank you, Mr. Ferguson, for reminding us of our duty!
I heart Craig Ferguson. ‘Love his show, especially his opening monologues!
I love Craig…he’s about as honest and unafraid of speaking his mind as any talk show host out there…which makes him even more endearing…
I moved FOUR years ago, but hadn’t voted, didn’t change my voter registration. I regularly TIVO Craig. When I saw this show, I got my voter reg. straightened out – I will vote this year.
I’m not old enough to vote yet, and honestly, I never thought I would vote — but after I saw this monologue, I stood and clapped and cried a little bit and decided to register the day I turn 18.
Kudos, Craig.
I am constantly in awe of Craig’s talents.
