Okay, here’s my challenge to you. Press play on Kitchell‘s lush, semi-animated video below, and if you’re not totally hooked by the one-minute mark, you have my permission to mercilessly berate me on the message boards below. Either way, totally fun for you, no? (Side note: My colleague Adrienne Day just gave Kitchell’s disc, This Storm, an A- review in the latest issue of EW; looks like I’m gonna have to purchase it myself this weekend.)

Wow…she does a mean Feist impression.
Plus some Fiona Apple zest for flavor.
Not too shabby. I wouldn’t say I’m hooked, but it’s not bad either.
It’s the best track on the whole album. Most of Sonya’s music is perfect for curing insomnia (or inducing desire for caffeine–that’s why her music is sold at Starbucks)
“For Every Drop” is energetic, powerful trip-hop. Sonya should aim for being tomorrow’s Enya today.
It’s just okay for me. Sorry, Slezak.
I’m with Nancy. It’s like, yo, dawg, it was just ok, for me, for you. You know?
meh
Sorry Slezak, but didn’t Luscious Jackson cover this in the 90s?
Oh joy! Another KT Tunstall/Fiest/Sia/Anna Nalick/Rachael Yamagata/Brandi Carlile clone! Let’s all count down the seconds until this is featured in a “Grey’s Anatomy” episode! 5… 4… 3…
It was so exciting to see Sonya’s record in my hometown starbucks.. the album is amazing and i cant stop listening to it! the video totally rocks, i love the animation aspect! keep it up Sonya;)
“Every drop” is one of my favorite tracks from the album and I love how this video so well compliments the songwriting talent that particular song showcases. Much like the song, the video leaves space for listener/viewer interpretation while also adding new elements for us to consider. Sonya is extraordinarily talented and her new album sounds great!
Out of all of the elements in that video- the water, the wind, the earth- sonya is easily the most natural…This storm rocks! Congratulations on another awesome album…
