Let’s see what was that show with a living ship, Muppet creations that didn’t look Muppet-y…I can’t seem to recall.
I swear that that is how the EW people behind that list thought. I’m not saying that Farscape had to be number 1, but it needs to be on that list. As I recall this is the second time that you guys have left it off a list of sci-fi greats. I say this is cause for the revocation of EW’s claim to geekdom.
Voltron and MST3K
The O’Reilly Factor. Most fanciful show on TV.
Thank you to those who noted “Lost in Space” (a personal fave) and Robotech (which I frequently give much praise to). Robotech dealt with interracial relationships, inter-species relationships (human-zentradi) and found the answer to everything was love. Even with Minmei’s annoying singing, the Macross series in particular sizzled. What ever happened to the promise of the Sentinels?
What the heck is protoculture anyway? Will we ever know?
Red Dwarf!
“Boo” to your top 20 Sci-Fi shows list. How could you overlook Stargate SG-1. The sci-fi show that lasted longer then any other and spawned 2 direct-to-dvd movies, a spin-off, a to-be-released MMO, and talks of a third series in the franchise.
By the way, thanks for including Alien Nation. I loved that show beyond reason and still wish it would come back.
Also, I never watched a moment of Farscape, but I’m still very surprised it didn’t make the list.
The fact that FARSCAPE is not on this list (and not even Top 10), makes it utterly invalid. Get a clue, EW!!!
How could you not include Stargate: SG-1, the longest consecutive running sci-fi show on television?
Farscape, Futurama, Roswell…. I’m disappointed in the list’s omissions. You skipped these but included the Jetsons?

One Step Beyond
Thriller
Chiller
Hello???????????
Space – Above and Beyond. Masterfully plotted.
- The original TWILIGHT ZONE
- The original STAR TREK
- The original BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
That was it for me.
thanks for including firefly – thunderbirds are go! had better acting/scripts than buck rodgers – also it seemed that DS9 always took more risks than nextgen
