Fox showed a preview of its latest import, Hole in the Wall, last night, and I missed it. If you, like me, are dying to see this show — because you find it funny when people run into anything — there’s another preview Tuesday at 9:35 p.m. ET. (My DVR is set.) The show officially premieres Sept. 11, at 8 p.m. ET.
Who’s with me? (If you watched last night, was it as awesomely bad as it looks?)

It really is as awesomely bad as it looks. I tuned in cause I wanted something on in the background while I was on the computer and I ended up watching it cause it was very amusing. The best way to watch it though is when you can skip commercials and replays and the yammering of the annoying hosts.
yeah, it was pretty annoying…it was funny when they were trying to get through the holes, but that maybe only accounted for a total of ten minutes!! I honestly can hardly watch these shows because they scour America to find the most annoying people to be contestants…MEH!
It was awesomely bad/super fantastic amazing!
It was basically unwatchable. Why? Because they had multiple recaps during a half hour “game show”. There were less than 5 minutes of anything even fun during it. Replay after replay of it, along with explanations?? If I ever watch it again, it’ll be on DVR, so I can fast forward past everything boring (aka 80% of the show).
A version of this is on Ellen; I wonder if she’ll have to abstain from using the premise now. I watched a little of it, but changed the channel to watch Sunday Night Football. It’s funny, though. They need a laughing panel in concert with the studio audience — watching people laugh at the contestants would make me laugh harder.
Funny you should mention this, because I heard it was just bad. Like, not so-bad-it’s-good. Just bad.
Judging by the clip, I’d have to agree.
I actually thought it was pretty amusing. But I WAS at the bar…volume down…drinking beer. So take that for what it’s worth.
This has to be the most content-free show on television (and, yes, I’m including you, “Big Brother 10,” in that assessment). After watching the preview last night, I’m quite certain I’ve seen all there is to see. Yes, I think it’s hilarious when people run into stuff — but, as the other posters pointed out, that accounts for VERY little of the actual show.
It is a total vapid gameshow, and I couldn’t stop watching. The hostess had the most annoying voice I’ve ever heard, which detracted some of the entertainment.
I agree this was one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen, but who doesn’t laugh at people getting stuck in a foam wall? It’s a cut above dwarf tossing, and how great would a celebrity version of this show be?
It is a funny show to watch when it is the Japanese version. It is typical for America to take it and change it to something dumb and annoying.
It’s not awesomely bad, it’s just bad. How did something like this end up on TV? I’m ashamed I wasted my time watching it.
I had high hopes because I like to watch people fall (I love Wipeout), but couldn’t agree more with the posters who said they ruined it by not having enough action. Also, the male announcer saying “the hole” every 2 seconds was way annoying. And why did Brooke Burke (?) have to shout every word out of her mouth when she had a mic in her hand as well as one of those mic headsets on?
Not as awesomely bad as it should have been. I was really excited, but the pace is slow and the host is annoyingly smug. — He makes bad jokes/puns about the contestants.
On the bright side, the show is ripe with “That’s what she said!” moments.
–Can they fit in the hole?
–It’s time for the final hole!
etc.
I’m hoping that, somehow, they fix the format. Either way, if you DVR it, it should be an enjoyable 7 minutes.
As you probably already noticed, Mandi, the whole premiere episode is at hulu. My husband thinks the Japanese version is funny, but I can only stand to watch two or three passes before I’m bored with it.
