Hello from the Toronto film festival, PopWatchers! I’m here today to video blog (or "vlog," to use the appropriate cyber-slang, which sounds like it was coined by Transylvanian lumberjacks) my first two days amongst the cinematic maple leaves. From where I sit, it’s been a surprisingly low energy fest thus far, but I still managed to cram in all kinds awesome activities, so click below to find out more about who Brad Pitt was hob-nobbing with at the Burn After Reading party and what Ricky Gervais has to do with me getting booed. Yes, I got booed, and I don’t even have a film here!

Hello Adam. I love your SYTYCD recaps and it was nice seeing your face for the first time.
I am really excited about Burn After Reading. Frances McDormand and John Malkovich are two people I love seeing on screne. And even though I still want back the two hours I spent watching Michael Clayton, Tilda Swinton is growing on me.
I was wondering if you managed to catch the Canadian Film Passchendaele and what your thoughts were. It’s the Canadian film that opened this Canadian Festival…
saw Burn After Reading this week at a special pre screening. YES! Funny in all the right places. Everyone, esp Pitt looks like they had fun making this movie. Tight plot, acerbic lines, witty, a definite must see for Coen Bros fans.
Burn After Reading seems like a winning cocktail of funny, talent and the Coen Bros. I can’t wait to see it in the theaters and I hope it does well.
I want to work at EW! It would be a blast going to parties and writing about pop culture as my job, instead of my sad and school-sidetracking hobby…
Oh man. I am first in line for Burn After Reading! Definitely going to see it Friday.
Ummm… it’s GERARD Butler, NOT Gerald. You have the job with EW and I don’t? Life is not fair.
WHO or WHAT is that guy in the background who DID NOT MOVE during the video? Is it a wax sculpture? A flat background? Or just someone able to stay very still?! Creepy!
Hi Adam…great update from the festival. Very much appreciated. By chance, did you get to see “Dean Spanley” which had a red carpet premiere on Saturday, also another screening today (Sunday)I heard it was well received (thunderous standing ovation)and there is even Oscar buzz for one of the stars, Peter O’Toole. Also stars Jeremy Northam, Sam Neill & Bryan Brown. Based on the Lord Dunsany novel.
Keep those festival updates coming!
Thanks, Northdave for noticing the guy in the backgroudn. I think he did do a slight head tilt at one point. Until then I thought he was a corpse that Adam was waiting to dispose of. I also caught the Gerald not Gerard thing too, but I will chalk it up to too much wine at the Secret Life of Bees party…

WHO or WHAT is that guy in the background who DID NOT MOVE during the video? Is it a wax sculpture? A flat background? Or just someone able to stay very still?! Creepy!…northave, if you look closely, you will see the poor guy have to scratch his nose about 1 min. 42 seconds in. Maybe he was working back there and they told him not to dare MOVE while the person was speaking, because movement behind him would be distracting to the viewer.
YES! Burn After Reading is the first exciting movie release since nearly mid-July. To me, the movie is the one to kick-off the grand fall movie season, and it should be nearly the best ticket of September – but maybe not box office-wise.
Burn After Reading looks HILARIOUS. My friends say it looks stupid. I say stupid is good. Anyhoo, keep us updated Adam!! God, I wish I had your job.
I definitely plan on seeing Burn After Reading when it is released on Friday. I will catch it after a couple of Festival screenings earlier that day.
it would be ideal for a Vlogger not to use “eh” every two words…. as other guy commented on this vlog “and you have the ET job and I don’t … not fair
I’m a huge Coen brothers fan and am looking forward to “Burn After Reading” but what I really want to know is why do I still have to wait nearly 2 months for “RocknRolla”??
